Frisson 369 and CollectiveMinds are thrilled to present Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals live in Kuala Lumpur this July 2018! The Grammy Award nominee will be rocking the stage at KL Live this 26th of July for a one-night-only headlining show, alongside his renowned backing band, The Free Nationals.

.Paak broke through in the R&B scene with the release of six powerful tracks on Dr. Dre’s legendary 2015 album, Compton. Born and raised in Oxnard California, the 32-year-old first dabbled in the world of music as a teenager, playing the drums in his church band. After releasing his debut album, O.B.E. Vol. 1, under then-pseudonym Breezy Lovejoy in 2012, .Paak toured as a drummer for American Idol contestant Haley Reinhart. He went on to release his album Venice under his current moniker ‘Anderson .Paak’ in 2014, featuring production from artists DJ Nobody, Tokimonsta and more.

.Paak’s 2016 album Malibu debuted at #9 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart and was nominated for a Grammy in the category for Best Urban Contemporary album of 2017 – .Paak himself earned a nomination that year for Best New Artist. Malibu’s tracks even made it to the big screen, in the ‘Everything, Everything’ and ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’, as well as in Marvel’s hit series ‘Iron Fist’. Since Malibu’s success, .Paak’s career has only been sky rocketing – from joining artists like Travis Scott, the Weeknd and SZA on the track list for Marvel’s blockbuster hit ‘Black Panther’, to making appearances on Chris Dave, to having his latest 2018 single ‘Til It’s Overfeatured in Apple’s recent acclaimed HomePod TV commercial.

Currently, .Paak is working towards the release of his follow-up album to Malibu. On this latest venture, he comments: “[Dre] had a heavy role in this new album that’s almost done”. Regarding its release, .Paak told Triple J radio station “I won’t say any dates, but you can definitely expect it this year sometime.”As part of the Asian leg of his tour, Anderson .Paak will also be making stops in Bangkok, Manila, Niigata and Tokyo.
