The Projector x Laneway Festival Singapore Present “On The Road”

The Projector and Laneway Festival Singapore present On The Road, a Michael Winterbottom rockumentary on indie rock band Wolf Alice as it promotes its debut studio album, My Love Is Cool, for the last time on a frenetic 16-date UK and Ireland tour.

Winterbottom blurs fact and fiction in his signature auteur style: Two invented crew members, Estelle and Joe start talking…and a spark kindles. They and the romance that ensues serve as conduits to convey life on tour. The part-music documentary, part-love story is an endearingly honest attestation to the realities of an indie band on the promotional route in this age stripped of 1990s music excesses.

Viewers will get information about the tour, the recording of the live shows, life backstage, the band’s interaction with the media. They should not expect matching leather anything or scenes of hedonistic living. Hummus and Doritos, however, do appear occasionally in this carefully-crafted, rich gem.

For one night only, On The Road will be screened exclusively:

The Projector
8.30pm, 11 January 2018

The Laneway Party will follow at The Intermission Bar.

Tickets sell for $13.50 (concession at $11.50) each, and are fully redeemable against any purchase of a Laneway Festival Singapore 2018 ticket. One redemption per festival ticket via a promotion code, limited to the first 50. Details available at http://bit.ly/wolfaliceontheroad
