Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today unveiled the A7000, the world’s first smartphone with Dolby Atmos audio technology. The smartphone features a brilliant 5.5-in HD display with ultra-wide viewing angles and moving audio technology from Dolby. In fact, it’s the world’s first smartphone to feature Dolby Atmos technology.
In addition to its impressive audio and visual technologies, this multimedia smartphone comes packed with several features that today’s mobile consumers desire. Running Android 5.0 on a MediaTek True8Core™ processor with 4G LTE, it handles voice and data quickly and even has a dual SIM card slot for assigning two telephone numbers or a separate data plan, along with dual cameras. Highly portable, the A7000 is 7.9mm thin and just 140 grams light, making it easy to fit in a bag or pocket and comes in two colours: Onyx Black or Pearl White.
“As the world’s first smartphone featuring all-new Dolby® Atmos™ technology, the Lenovo A7000 is built for entertainment at an affordable price range. Our partnership with Dolby delivers a responsive multimedia performer which promises a fulfilling user experience,” said Foo Mun Yee, Country Lead, Lenovo Smartphone, Malaysia.
World’s first Dolby Atmos® smartphone
Previously pioneered and perfected in cinemas, the Dolby Atmos technology has generated tremendous excitement in home theatres. This powerfully moving entertainment experience has now been extended to phone users of the Lenovo A7000 to enjoy the rich, immersive sound experience. Music, videos, games, and even video chats will be enhanced with audio that flows above and around.
Users will immediately hear the Dolby Atmos difference using headphones: sounds of people, places, things, and music become more vivid and move from all directions, including overhead, with astonishing clarity, richness and depth. Voices and noises have a broader range from highs to lows, with the greatest subtlety. The technology also makes playback volume more consistent across all types of content.
Power to go the distance
The A7000 comes with a large battery while keeping the overall design very sleek. One can now stay connected for longer, watch more videos on a single charge and not be worried about running out of charge. The all-day 2900mAh battery ensures there is no stopping your entertainment. With OTG supported, you can connect USB drives (with microUSB connector) for data transfer on the go. You can even utilise the A7000 as a power bank to charge other phones from it.
Partnership with Lazada
In conjunction with today’s unveiling of the A7000, Lenovo Malaysia will be partnering with Lazada Malaysia to launch and exclusively retail the Lenovo A7000 Smartphone as part of a regional initiative. This is the first time Lenovo is doing a concurrent launch across six ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Customers may purchase the phone on the online store during a pre-order flash sale to celebrate the launch.
“We are excited to exclusively retail the Lenovo A7000 Smartphone across the six Southeast Asian countries that Lazada operates in, having already experienced our successful partnership in Indonesia. I am confident that our market leadership and reach to approximately 550 million consumers in the region, along with Lenovo’s business strategy and brand presence, will pave the way to a win-win partnership,” said Maximilian Bittner, CEO of Lazada Group.
