Idospa Sdn. Bhd. has launched an online spa booking platform in Malaysia which aims to connect spa merchants and customers on a specialised platform. With a merchant base of over 1,000 and counting, the application is essentially a one-stop-platform which grants customers easy access to a wide range of spas available in the market.
Aptly named idospa, the application is a play on the terms “I do spa” which reconciles well with its business nature of spa and wellness. The platform aims to bridge the gap between more than 3,000 spas in Malaysia with its potential customers.
The launch is officiated by YBhg Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, Director General of Tourism Malaysia. Also in attendance is Award Winning Malaysia songstress Dayang Nurfaizah, and Jojo Struys, regional TV Host and Yoga Instructor.
Ben Chua, Chief Executive Officer of Idospa said, “Idospa offers users the unprecedented opportunity and platform to not only locate spa services, either in their vicinity or any other location, but also book them at the touch of a button and pay via hassle-free methods. Indeed, today is history in the making, and we’re glad to have you as part of this significant milestone, not only for us, but the Malaysian market as a whole.”
The tourism and hospitality industry in Malaysia is one of the main contributors towards the country’s Gross National Income (GNI) and is recognised as one of the National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) in the government’s vision to make Malaysia a high income nation by the year 2020. As one of the Entry Point Projects (EPP) under the Economic Transformation Plan (ETP), the Ministry of Tourism and Culture has also established a National Spa Council to regulate and address issues pertaining to the spa industry. This year, the tourism and hospitality sector is expected to remain the third largest contributor to the Malaysian economy. The idospa platform will also enable tourists to locate neighbouring spa and wellness centres.
“The wellness segment in Malaysia grew 10% in 2014, and the government hopes to develop the spa industry further to attract visitors with money to spend on these experiences. Malaysia’s wellness and fitness industry has the potential to become a big revenue earner for the tourism sector and I believe this is a fair statement. Having an application such as idospa will help tourists when they arrive is something that would definitely boost up the Malaysian Tourism industry even more.” Datuk Mirza said.
With a simple and clean User Interface, the idospa application makes it easy and user friendly to operate. Consumers can make their bookings on the go with the app, enjoy the appointment made, and exit once they are finished. Merchants, on the other hand, will be able to better manage their business in various areas, including monitoring databases, customer segmentations, managing multiple centres and have a faster reach marketing platform. Users can download the application on the App Store and Google Play Store by searching for idospa Malaysia.
