Over 11,000 Music Fans Gather For ROAD TO ULTRA SINGAPORE Β | The inaugural edition of Road To ULTRA Singapore took place last night at the iconic Marina Bay Sands, setting a new record for the largest indoor dance music event in Singapore history.
Road to ULTRA Singapore also goes down in history as Singaporeβs first completely cashless event of this scale, and one of the biggest parties of the 2015 F1 weekend.
Three of the worldβs most popular DJs – Skrillex, Nicky Romero and Alesso, took to the legendary ULTRA stage for an eight-hour production of music, lighting and theatricals, brought direct from the team behind globally renowned electronic music festival, ULTRA Miami.
The jam-packed Sands Expo and Convention halls, described by Rave Republic as βone of the biggest gigs of their lifeββ welcomed more than 11,000 βULTRAnautsβ to party the night away into the early hours of Sunday morning.
Dutch DJ, Nicky Romero, famed for his chart-topping tracks βLighthouseβ βWarriorsβ and βFeet on the groundβ says: “It was an honour to be invited to be a headliner at the first ever Road To ULTRA Singapore. ULTRA is always a highlight of my touring schedule and this edition was no exception. The reception from everyone has been overwhelming and the crowd was awesome! I canβt wait to return to Singapore.β
Kicking off in true ULTRA style, Asian based duo Rave Republic geared the crowd up for the night ahead. As one of the most in-demand DJ duos based out of Asia, they created a high energy show featuring props, video visuals and many memorable surprises themed in a post apocalyptic way.
The momentum further built up with performances from Mija, Ansolo, Nicky Romero and Swedish power house Alesso, before Skrillex closed the night with an electrifying 90-minute set taking fans on a journey across music, cranking up the atmosphere to euphoric levels through the early hours of this morning.
One of the party goers, Prashant Ashoka, 26 says: βSkrillex brought the house down! HisΒ closing set was immense and it was great to see him live – he has a huge following in Singapore and the crowd were so excited β the lighting, confetti drops, lasers and pyros all created a super cool atmosphere.ββ
Raj Datwani, Executive Partner for Road to ULTRA Singapore, says: βWeβre delighted with the success of last nightβs event and loved welcoming some of the biggest names in the music industry to Singapore. We had an overwhelming response to ticket sales and the event was at capacity, which speaks volumes for the growth of the EDM scene in Asia. We are excited about bringing future ULTRA events to Singapore and further strengthening the ULTRA brand presence in Asia.ββ
