ASIA ISLAMIC FASHION WEEK 2017

Mengangkat inspirasi warna-warni dunia fesyen Islamik dan sebagai usaha mengembangkan lagi industri tersebut, AIFW Event dengan segala hormatnya membawakan kepada anda acara kegemilangan fesyen Islamik Asia yang pertama di Malaysia –  Asia Islamic Fashion Week 2017 (#AIFW2017).Ia merupakan acara dagangan yang direka khusus untuk mempersembahkan gabungan kesantunan fesyen dengan gaya terkini yang tidak lari daripada konteks Islamik.

Malaysia bersedia menjadi tuan rumah buat acara yang julung-julung kali diadakan ini bermula 30 Mac – 2 April 2017. Industri runcit ini akan berlangsung di Pusat Konvensyen Kuala Lumpur (KLCC) yang berprestij selama (4) empat hari dari jam 10 pagi hingga 8 malam setiap hari, untuk semua pihak mendekati dan memiliki trend mutakhir dalam persalinan busana, aksesori, kosmetik dan sumber yang berinspirasi Islam.

Bertemakan ‘Memperkenalkan Asia Sebagai Pusat Global Fesyen Islamik’, #AIFW2017 bercita-cita untuk menjadi ruang pasaran bagi fesyen dan gaya hidup Islamik berpengaruh di Asia, dengan menyediakan medan bagi komuniti bisnes fesyen Islamik bertukar-tukar pengalaman dan pengetahuan.Lebih daripada 10,000 pengunjung, 180 peserta pameran, 100 pereka, 200 pembeli dagangan antarabangsa, pencetus pengaruh fesyen, eksekutif bisnes, jurugambar fesyen dan keseluruhan pengamal media dari lebih 20 negara dijangkakan mengambil bahagian dalam #AIFW2017.

Tiga elemen utama #AIFW2017 adalah:

Sebuah platform untuk rangkaian perniagaan fesyen dan gaya hidup Islamik yang mapan serta berkeuntungan. Daripada jenama mewah, hingga ke trend terkini dalam fesyen yang santun, #AIFW2017 membawakan peserta pameran dari seluruh dunia yang menjadi nadi bisnes fesyen Islamik. Masuk adalah PERCUMA.

  1. Pertunjukan Fesyen

Memperkenalkan trend terkini fesyen Islamik daripada pereka terkenal, peruncit terunggul, butik dan pereka fesyen bebas dari Malaysia, Brunei, Perancis, Netherlands, Amerika Syarikat,Jepun dan Arab Saudi. Persembahan di runway atau pentas peragaan adalah sesuatu yang wajib disaksikan.

Mengenai Industri Fesyen Islamik

Menurut Laporan Kedudukan Ekonomi Islamik Global 2015/16 yang dikeluarkan secara bersama oleh Reuters, konsumer Muslim sedunia membelanjakan sejumlah AS$230 bilion untuk pakaian pada 2014, menjadikan pasaran pakaian Muslim membentuk 11 peratus daripada perbelanjaan global, dengan kadar pertumbuhan sebanyak 3.8 peratus berbanding tahun lalu. Angka tersebut dijangka mencecah AS$484 bilion menjelang 2019.

Saiz pasaran yang ketara ini memerlukan perhatian dan pelaburan dari seluruh dunia. Pemain fesyen arus perdana utama daripada Uniqlo dan Mango hinggalah kepada pereka fesyen aras tinggi seperti Dolce & Gabbana dan Tommy Hillfiger telahpun mengikut jejak langkah DKNY yang melabur dalam sektor ini.

Semua ini berlaku seiring perkembangan syarikat-syarikat fesyen Muslim yang kini meneroka pasaran. Platform e-dagang seperti Hijup (Indonesia) dan Modanisa (Turki) juga menerima kemasukan pelaburan yang besar untuk memperkembangkan asas pengguna masing-masing.

Laporan berkenaan turut menggariskan bahawa Malaysia mendahului majoriti kategori industri Halal dalam Petunjuk Ekonomi Islamik Global. Sebagai negara Islam yang moden dan progresif, Malaysia telah lama membawa aspirasi Hab Halal Global, dengan merintis banyak inisiatif Halal serta menjadi tuan rumah kepada inisiatif yang berkaitan seperti #AIFW2017 demi mencetus kesedaran lebih luas tentang pasaran Halal.

MALAYSIA INDIAN FASHION FESTIVAL 2016 (MIFF 2016)

The event is called MIFF 2016 and is also known as the MALAYSIA INDIAN FASHION FESTIVAL 2016 organized by an established Malaysian event agency, Fusion Media Productions Sdn. Bhd. MIFF 2016 is the brainchild of Kishvin, the CEO of Fusion Media and together with a group of influential Malaysian people including celebrities, supermodels, well­‐known designers and event producers who share one thing in common­‐ a desire to create a platform that will showcase the many God given talents that exist in our country, and to show how unique Malaysian fashion truly is.If there is one word that summarizes what MIFF 2016 is all about, it would be ‘fusion’. We want to show a fusion of cultures; a fusion of styles; a fusion of high fashion and everyday fashion; and also a fusion of the modern and the traditional. In line with this, our theme for MIFF 2016 is “Trendy­‐tional”, and our tagline is “Where real fashion meets true passion”.

Even though the name might suggest otherwise, Malaysia Indian Fashion Festival is not only about Indian designers. Instead, it is open to any designer who has injected an element of Indian­‐style or Bollywood design, motifs and themes in their design(at least 10%) The reason for this is that we would like MIFF 2016 to show that the cultures of Malaysia are not separate from one another. Malaysia is in fact a diverse country, and our different races and cultures influence each other to create an amazing mash­‐up of styles and designs. This is what makes us unique as a country and this is what we would like to share with the world.

MIFF 2016 will showcase a total of 16 designers in 2 categories.The first being Trendsetter ­‐Emerging which features upcoming designers. The Emerging segment will kick start at 3.30pm with a special handloom showcase which comprises of normal everyday people instead of models . It will be interesting to find outwhat makes handloom so special and how it was the beginning. The main highlight will be the Premier – Elite category which will showcase 9 designers from Malaysia, Singapore, India and Iran. It is the grand gala night that will take place from 7.30p.m onwards. Some of the names we have lined up are Sarvenaz (Iran), Vineetha Goel (India),J Calista (Singapore),Hari Haran, Rasta Rashid, Harsimrit , Joshua Benedict,Mora Laree, Zeel Bridal, SS Couture from Malaysia and many others.

Mercedes-Benz and Datuk Jimmy Choo launch Malaysia Fashion Week 2015 in Paris

The Malaysia Fashion Week (MFW) 2015 got off to a grand start over the weekend at the annual international showcase of the Mercedes Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week to a host of global guests, trade and media audiences at the Maison De L’Amerique Latine, Paris. Malaysia’s national trade promotion agency MATRADE (Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation) in partnership with STYLO International (Malaysia’s leading fashion event organiser) and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveiled the second MFW with a select list of seven Malaysian names and two of Asia’s established fashion stars as part of the Global Launch event.

MFW 2015 happening on 4 to 7 November in Kuala Lumpur will feature the Spring/Summer 2016 collection of over 60 Malaysian designers at its Malaysia Fashion Showcase and over 30 international designers at its Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week together with an exhibition of over 300 booths of Malaysian and International businesses of fashion apparels, accessories, cosmetics and personal care as well as textile.

The MFW 2015 Global Launch is an intimate initiation to the fashion event, which happens from 4 to 7 November, and Kuala Lumpur as an up and coming fashion destination. Eight designers brought runway style through collections that pulsed with sculptural and sharp-edged silhouettes, chic traditional wear and whimsical totes, generating immense interest amongst the invite-only guests, which included French media, fashion influencers and International buyers. Malaysia’s beloved shoe couturier extraordinaire Datuk Professor Jimmy Choo, who is Honorary Advisor to MFW, was the Guest of Honour. Also present were Mr Florian Muller, Director General of Mercedes-Benz Retail France and Mr Roland Folger, President and CEO of Mercedes Benz Malaysia.

Director General of Mercedes-Benz Retail France, Mr Florian Muller said at the Global Launch, “Mercedes-Benz is pleased to join hands with our Malaysian office in playing host to the global launch of Malaysia Fashion Week. Reinforcing our inexorable support of the fashion industry, we are pleased to bring together two fashion cities of the East and West through this fashion exchange.

As part of the launch initiative, an international exhibition took place 20 and 21 September 2015 at the Mercedes-Benz Gallery, situated at the famed Champs-Elysees, complete with an elaborate display of each designer’s brand and collection. The MFW team brought in more than 60 top French buyers such as Galerie La Fayette and Printempts to personally meet and discover each one of the nine designers and brands, namely Bon Zainal, Fairuz Ramdan, Illiza Ho, Porosus, Blancheur, Royal Selangor Pewter, Von Jolly Couture together with Ali Charisma (Indonesia) and Avel Bacudio (Philippines) – a previous winner of Asia’s Most Influential Designer Award at the Mercedes Benz Stylo Asia Fashion Week 2013. Chairman of MATRADE, Datuk Noraini Ahmad, who was present at the Global Launch, quoted, “ As Malaysia’s national trade promotion agency, MATRADE is pleased to introduce a talented list of designers to a wider, more international audience enticed by what Malaysia and Asia have to offer. We recognise the global launch as an integral segment towards promoting MFW 2015 and invite global trade buyers to Kuala Lumpur for the event.

President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, Mr Roland Folger echoed the Chairman’s remarks. “Paris – the epicentre of fashion is the perfect launch pad for young Asian designers to the rest of Europe. Mercedes-Benz has long believed in fostering events that showcase creative excellence in fashion and design, innovation and inspiration.” he said.

Participating designers were meticulously selected based on their international appeal and their finesse in capturing the Asian essence through their brand and collection.

Co-Chairman of MFW 2015 & Chairman of Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week Datuk Nancy Yeoh said, “While many designers are in London right now, we took the strategy to showcase in Paris instead ahead of its fashion week. Otherwise it would be too easy to miss us by next week when the world descends on the global fashion capital of the world

She further added, “The ground-breaking nature of the fashion we will be showcasing at this year’s MFW will culminate in the prestigious Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week, which is developing into one of the region’s most sought after event. The Mercedes-Benz Stylo Asia Fashion Week (MBStyloAFW) Awards is a chance of a lifetime for Asian designers to be recognised beyond their borders. It promises to be more iconic and revolutionary than ever at the closing of MFW 2015.”

Designers and brands representing Malaysia:

Bon Zainal – With over 20 years in the fashion industry, Zainal has stamped his mark as one of the country’s leading designers, renowned for his exquisite menswear. Zainal was awarded the coveted ‘Designer of the Year Award’ at the Mercedes-Benz Stylo Fashion Grand Prix 2014, which is a fashion event that coincides with the annual Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix.

Fairuz Ramdan – A strong advocate for fashion, Ramdan is a natural designer; Fairuz Ramdan Bespoke was his debut collection that has since expanded to include others such as ready-to-wear and resort-inspired lines. Ramdan, highly acclaimed for his quirky and cutting edge designs, is this year’s (2015) recipient of the ‘Designer of the Year Award’ from the Fashion Grand Prix event.

Illiza Ho – A protégé of Datuk Professor Jimmy Choo, Ho lends a playful twist to her range of accessories.

Porosus – A luxury (crocodile) leather brand of exquisite handbags, men’s bags and shoes.

Blancheur– an inspirational Muslimah brand (for women) that translates traditional silhouettes into modern and elegant ready-to-wear collections; a brand that’s very European in its cut, design and style.

Royal Selangor Pewter – a global pewter brand that’s recognised for pushing the envelope in design yet remaining true to its heritage of fine craftsmanship. A truly iconic Malaysian brand that’s been captivating the world since 1885 with its precious collection.

Von Jolly Couture – a brand that’s synonymous with the exotic beauty of East Malaysia; its elegant evening range of gowns and dresses is inspired by traditional batik and Borneo prints. The designers behind Von Jolly are from Sarawak, a Malaysian state in East Malaysia famous for its colourful and vibrant indigenous cultures.

Asian designers:

Ali Charisma – one of Indonesia’s finest who expertly fuses texture and tone to create stunning pieces that range from luxe evening wear to casual wear.

Avel Bacudio – a leading designer from the Philippines who dresses celebrities and personalities with his flair and panache in structured, almost architectural designs. His story is one of passion, determination and sheer hard work that’s won him numerous awards.

Sepuluh finalis AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search dipilih oleh panel hakim | 

10 finalis AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2015 yang akan mempamerkan koleksi mereka di pentas peragaan Minggu Fesyen KL Fashion Week RTW 2015 Ogos ini telah diumumkan pada Ahad 28 Jun; membawa impian pereka muda ini menjadi realiti menerusi pencarian pereka fesyen ini.

Sebagai sebahagian dari usaha terus syarikat penerbangan ini menyokong usaha pembangunan bakat muda, AirAsia melancarkan pencarian pereka ini bagi memberi platform kepada pereka muda bagi memaparkan bakat mereka dan menempa nama dalam industry fesyen menerusi kolaborasi strategik bersama pasukan KL Fashion Week Ready to Wear.

Pencarian pereka ini yang telah dilancarkan bulan lepas, dan telah menerima 350 penyertaan dari pelajar-pelajar jurusan rekaan fesyen dan pereka dari seluruh negara dan sejumlah 62 pereka telah di disenarai pendek dan diberi peluang membentangkan inspirasi dan rekaan mereka kepada panel hakim termasuk Aireen Omar, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif AirAsia Berhad; Andrew Tan, Pengasas KLFW RTW; dan turut disertai individu berpengaruh Khoon Hooi dan Jovian Mandagie, pereka fesyen terkenal di Malaysia; dan Khairul Abidin Ishak, Editor Majalah EH!.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif AirAsia Berhad, Aireen Omar berkata, “Kami sentiasa menyokong inisiatif pembangunan bakat muda di rantau ini, dan menerusi penyertaan yang telah kami lihat, kami sangat kagum dengan kualiti bakat yang kita ada di sini. Sukar bagi kami memilih dari 62 pereka yang disenarai pendek ke 25 orang dan seterusnya ke 10 orang finalis. Saya sememangnya sangat teruja menyaksikan kesemua mereka di atas pentas KL Fashion Week RTW 2015 Ogos ini.”

10 finalis telah dipilih berdasarkan keaslian, rekaan, peresembahan di pentas peragaan, dan koleksi yang konsisten.

Andrew Tan, Pengasas KL Fashion Week RTW berkata, “Kami sangat berbesar hati dengan komitmen AirAsia dalam membantu membangun bakat muda, dan telah memilih industri fesyen sebagai salah satu inisiatif yang dibantu. 10 finalis adalah: Shazmin Hashim, Syamil Fazwan dan Muhammad Nur Hazimin, dari Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Lee Bao En dari UCSI University; Liew Suet Yi, Ong Pei Yin, dan Ter Mei Ching dari Esmod Kuala Lumpur The One Academy; Nur Irsalina Sulzaily dari Limkokwing University of Creative Technology; serta Andy Yeo Kai Seh dan Foo Yee Ming dari Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA).

Tiga pereka terbaik akan diumumkan pada akhir pencarian ini dan memegang gelaran ‘AirAsia Most Promising Designer 2015’, bersama dengan hadiah-hadiah yang lain termasuk Piala AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search, tiket pergi balik ke Tokyo, Sydney dan Hong Kong, sehingga 60,000 AirAsia BIG Points setiap satu, dan Komputer riba Dell Inspiron 11 3000 dan peluang untuk mempersembahkan koleksi penuh mereka pada KL Fashion Week RTW 2016, dan juga peluang menjadi sebahagian dari Minggu Fesyen lain di rantau ini dan banyak lagi.

Koleksi Terbaru SYOMIR IZWA FOR ZALORA

ZALORA, destinasi fesyen atas talian terulung di Asia memperkenalkan hasil kerjasamanya dengan salah seorang pereka fesyen terhangat Malaysia, Syomir Izwa, dengan suatu koleksi eksklusif yang diilhamkan daripada gerakan Art Deco, yang hangat di Eropah pada zaman 1920-an hingga 1930-an dahulu. Konsep koleksi ini diilhamkan oleh rekaan seni bina zaman 20-an dan 30-an yang popular di seluruh Eropah dan Amerika Syarikat bergelar gerakan Art Deco. Syomir Izwa mendapat ilham daripada perincian geometri gerakan ini yang ditonjolkannya dalam koleksi Hari Raya beliau yang terkini. Menggabungkan unsur-unsur vintaj daripada gerakan Art Deco ini dengan seni baju kurung tradisional, Syomir telah menyulamkan dua faktor ini untuk melahirkan rupa bergaya yang jitu bagi wanita moden.

Bersama dengan ciri-ciri lazim baju kurung, Syomir Izwa mengenakan sentuhan Eropah kepada rekaan-rekaannya. Koleksi tersebut juga menampilkan warna hitam putih yang klasik, dengan rona-rona mirip makarun seperti jingga kesumba, biru firus, biru, kuning, lime, serta perang dan juga nude. Kesegaran rekaan dikekalkan dengan merangkumkan lisu-lisu samar dan perincian blok warna untuk melahirkan ilusi Art Deco.

Sebahagian besar koleksi ini diperbuat daripada kapas buluh organik. Keselesaan dan kesejukan bahan tersebut membolehkan pemakainya merasa sejuk dan selesa semasa musim perayaan yang panas. Koleksi tersebut  terdiri daripada set mini kurung, set baju kurung serta dress labuh.

One of the most-awaited fashion events in the country, the Mercedes-Benz STYLO Fashion Grand Prix returns for the 7th year to the capital city from the 24th to the 29th of March 2014.

Entitled “Wearable Fantasies”, a series of high profile, tongue-in-cheek styled fashion events will dominate several nightspots and venues dotted along Jalan P.Ramlee in the week leading up to the 16th Petronas Malaysia F1 race. Leading the signing ceremony at the media conference for the 5-day festival was its Presenter, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia represented by its President & CEO Roland Folger .

“We are happy to be back with STYLO for the 7th year. Our partnership has evolved over the years. Initially planned as an annual fashion festival to support the Malaysian F1 celebrations the STYLO fashion event has since become a prelude to the successful Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Week which was launched last year”, said  Roland Folger

“The B2B trade fashion event under the Asia Fashion Week banner is an annual affair and it will be staged in Kuala Lumpur once again later this year binging in fashion heavyweights from over 15 Asian countries to Malaysia”, he said.

“Owing to the success of Asia Fashion Week (AFW), we have now migrated all trade-related fashion activities from the Fashion Grand Prix (FGP) into the AFW leaving the FGP as a true fashion festival for pure fashion entertainment during the F1 season. Fashion’s merely the excuse”, said Datuk Nancy Yeoh, President & CEO of STYLO International.

Mercedes-Benz STYLO FGP 2014 is a 5-day festival comprising 6 events which will be staged this year in the centre of Kuala Lumpur’s nightspot on Jalan P.Ramlee. With Poppy Garden and Hap Seng Star as official venues, the fashion festival will kick off with a pyjamas-inspired event and tribute to Men’s Fashion, ‘A Stylish Slumber featuring Men …and More Men’ will showcase Datuk Tom Abang Saufi, Joe Chia, QUARTER HOMME and newcomer Kinsleger.

The third evening will see THE FASHION WORLD OF SUZIE WONG come to life.  Chinoiserie chic with classic styles and beehive hair will be the order of the evening as A Cut Above, Official Hair of the Mercedes-Benz STYLO FGP celebrates its 35th anniversary the same evening. The fashion showcase will also feature designs by Keith Kee and Jason Yek.

This will be followed by Alter Ego which will feature Super Heroes, Villains, Bikers and Babes in Bill Keith creations besides members of the Harley Owners Group taking centrestage at this unique event which will be in tribute to Ronnie Choong, known fondly as the entrepreneur behind the success of the Jalan P.Ramlee’s nightlife.  The evening will also feature the Semi-Finals of the Emerging Designers Competition of Mercedes-Benz STYLO FGP 2014.

Stylo FGP 2014 will culminate with the black-tie Mercedes-Benz STYLO Fashion Awards Gala, “Who is Gatsby?” on Friday night at Hap Seng Star, awarding the best in the fashion industry. Whilst Zang Toi, Jovian Mandagie, Bon Zainal, Fairuz Ramdan and Illiza Ho will flaunt their designs on stage, French Fashion DJ and former lingerie model Petra Silander will be flown in from Paris to turn the beat up post awards.  Former supermodel and beauty queen Kavita Sidhu will be the host of the evening.

On Saturday afternoon, A Royal High tea with official jeweler De Beers Diamond Jeweller will be held at Hap Seng Star. This will be a private event for a handpicked audience of 60 pax to a private viewing of the Talisman Jubilee Crown will be unveiled to a crowd comprising members of the Malaysian royal families. Created in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee the unique De Beers Talisman crown will be flown in from London for a short exhibition in various parts of Kuala Lumpur. Its month-long exhibition at London’s Harrods generated much international interest.

“ This year’s theme is ‘Wearable Fantasies’. It’s hard to beat the Talisman Jubilee Crown when it comes to wearing one’s ultimate fantasy”, said Yeoh. The Talisman Jubilee Crown is made up of 974 diamonds which include a 28 carat, a 26 carat and a 73 carat stone.

Stylo will close the week with a showcase by Shawn Cutler, Azlan Adrian Arif and Phuna Boon Yi at Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Party at the Simfoni Lake of the KLCCP Park.Other partners present at the signing ceremony were Visa Worldwide(official card), Kinohimitsu, A Cut Above (official hair), Diva  Productions (official make-up); Asia Fashion Inc, (online retail partner); ICAD (formerly PJ Cad) for backstage support,  Malaysian Official Designers’ Association (MODA) and Bumiputra Designers Association (BDA).
