Lenny Kravitz will not be performing at the after-race concert for the 2015 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysia Grand Prix™ on 29 March 2015 – following an announcement from Kravitz’s management.
According to Kravitz’s statement, the cancellation is due to unforeseen scheduling issues. Kravitz said, “Unfortunately, due to contractual scheduling conflicts beyond my control I will not be able to come to Kuala Lumpur to perform. I have been looking forward to coming to play for my fans and I’m deeply sorry that my concert had to be cancelled. My ability to come play for you all is a huge concern to me and I’m looking forward to rescheduling so I can perform for you as soon as possible.”
Ticket holders are assured that the post-race concert taking place from 630pm to 1130pm at the Helipad in Sepang International Circuit will still go on as scheduled.
“We understand the disappointment of Lenny Kravitz’s fans, and we have taken steps to ensure that a rocking good time will still be enjoyed at the concert by securing another artiste as the new headline act, to complement our line-up of local performers. We will be announcing the new headline act soon, so do look out for news from us,” said Dato’ Razlan Razali, CEO of Sepang International Circuit.

The upcoming 2014 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix™ promoted under the banner “Sepang Comes Alive” is already living up to its tagline as internationally acclaimed DJ Calvin Harris is set to perform as part of the after race concert on the 30th of March 2014 at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) Helipad.
The Scottish-born singer, songwriter, and producer, dubbed as the King of Electronic Dance Music was also recently announced as the 2013 Forbes’ Electronic Cash Kings List and currently holds the Guinness World Record for the most top ten hits from a single album in the UK, a record previously held by The King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. The double-platinum-selling Harris sprang to prominence with his debut album I Created Disco in 2007 and has topped the charts around the world with two number one albums to date. With a string of number one singles, his most recent album 18 Months features chart toppers such as Feel So Close, his collaboration with Rihanna on We Found Love, and Let’s Go, which features Ne-Yo. The After Race Concert is accessible to all grandstand and C2 hillstand tickets holders. What makes it more exciting, beginning January 1, SIC has announced 40% discount to all MyKad holders for the 2014 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix™ tickets.
