Imagine Dragons – Smoke + Mirror Tour

Live Nation Lushington is proud to announce IMAGINE DRAGONS performing live in Singapore for the very first time. The American alt-rock band will bring their Smoke + Mirrors Tour to the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 25 August 2015.

Tickets will be available via all Sports Hub Tix channels on 17 April 2015 (Friday) 10am onwards. Ticket prices start from S$98.

After releasing their 2012 full-length debut Night Visions (featuring “Top of the World”, “Demons” and the Grammy Award-winning single “Radioactive”), Imagine Dragons spent nearly two years bringing their passionately inventive brand of alt-rock to arenas around the world. After more than 130 headline dates and 50 festivals across the globe, the Las Vegas-based quartet threw themselves into creating material for their next album. “So many things were changing for us so quickly, the only way to feel some kind of stability was to keep writing,” says frontman Dan Reynolds, who founded Imagine Dragons with guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman.

With Smoke + Mirrors, Imagine Dragons use the frenetic energy of life on the road to infuse their music with both raw tension and intense vulnerability. As on Night Visions which racked up more than 3.9 million album sales and 24 million track sales worldwide, Imagine Dragons works with sharply crafted beats and grooves to dream up rhythm-driven rock music that’s artful yet visceral. Also revealing the band’s dedication to keeping it homespun, Smoke + Mirrors marks the first release recorded in their new self-built home studio. In each sprawling and hook-laced song on Smoke + Mirrors – including the brooding but anthemic lead single “Bet My Life”, and the soulful, tribal-drumbeat-powered title track – Imagine Dragons reveal the pain and exhilaration that comes with soul-searching and transcendence.

Live performance has always been essential to Imagine Dragons, who formed in 2009 and quickly earned a grassroots following by touring extensively and independently releasing a series of EPs. After signing to KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records, the band made their major-label debut with the release of Continued Silence (a 2012 EP featuring the breakthrough single “It’s Time”). Once Night Visions arrived later that same year, Imagine Dragons soon found themselves on a skyward trajectory that saw the album climbing to #2 on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as the group taking home the Best Rock Performance for “Radioactive” at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Despite the whirlwind of the past few years, the drive to create sonically adventurous but unabashedly honest music has remained a constant for Imagine Dragons. For Reynolds, Smoke + Mirrors has proven his most daringly candid experience in songwriting yet. “At times it’s really scary to think about so many people hearing what I’m talking about in the lyrics on this album, but I know that for better for worse it’s completely authentic and genuine and true to who we are as a band,” says Reynolds.

In conjunon with its 24th year anniversary last Friday, the Malaysian Official Designer’s Association (MODA) celebrated innovation with Samsung Malaysia Electronics for the third year in a row. Together, both brands sought to offer a platform to young designers and distinguished local designers who will showcase their creations.

This year, MODA introduced 10 up-and-coming young designers, alongside 35 designers who are no strangers to the fashion industry in Malaysia. They had the pleasure to flaunt their designs on a gold runway, which is 175 feet in length. Samsung GALAXY S5 ambassadors, Awal Ashaari and Liyana Jasmay, made special appearances at the fashion showcase in appreciation of the local fashion industry.

“This is yet another astonishing year for us, as we have in total 45 talented designers who will join forces to do something meaningful for the fashion and beauty industry. We are grateful for the support we have received from many corporate citizens, Samsung being one of them. They are the cornerstones to our quest, as we seek to unearth shining stars that we hope will catapult Malaysia to fame one day,” said Gillian Hung, President of MODA.

Nigel Chia and his team of make-up artist and hairstylist took home the Samsung Innovation Collection Award for their creative creations inspired by the GALAXY S5. Meanwhile, Hariharan Arasu and his make-up and hairstyling team also won the Samsung Innovation Collection Award for their exceptional Samsung Gear 2 outfits and styling. To end the night, Ava Abdollahi bagged the title of Samsung Outstanding Designer Award, which yielded her a unit of the GALAXY S5. She was chosen based on the most creative use of fabric on an innovative and futuristic design.
