Having attracted over 55,000 people from 85 countries at FMFA 2014 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, its debut in Singapore is expected to be quite the spectacle.
Private Cabanas
“Singapore was the obvious destination of choice, because we recognize its value as an international hub and up-and-coming center for music and entertainment in South-east Asia. With Singapore’s vibrant calendar of world class events, and exceptional infrastructure, it was only natural for it to be FMFA’s next home,” Muhammad Iqbal, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Livescape Group said.
“We have never spared any expense in offering our loyal fans the best event experience they can get, and we aren’t about to stop now. In addition to the star-studded cast of international, regional and local acts, we also look forward to having a few more little surprises in store for all festivalgoers on-site. With this, we are well placed to create a truly memorable, world-class event to commemorate our Singapore debut, and in keeping with this country’s aim of becoming a world-class entertainment destination,” Iqbal added.
SUPERNOVA – THE MAIN STAGE
For the first time in South East Asia, FMFA will also be working with world-renowned stage designer, James Klein (www.jameskleinevents.com) to curate its main stage, dubbed the Supernova Stage. James Klein has previously worked on the stage designs for the likes of Ultra Music Festival and Sensation. The multi-storey Supernova Stage at FMFA 2015 will be one of the largest South East Asia has ever seen and is especially customised and built specifically for the festival. The stage includes never before seen pyrotechnics and visuals and extensive giant LED screens.
GETTING THERE
Bearing in mind FMFA’s location in the Far East, organisers will be providing free shuttle services, which will ferry revellers to and from a soon to be announced location within the city centre at 30-minute intervals either way. This will take place throughout the entire duration of the festival with at least 40 – 45 forty-seater shuttle buses on standby. Aside to this, GrabTaxi has come on board as the Official Taxi Partner for FMFA 2015 and will be operating a taxi booth at the entrance and exit points of the festival grounds to assist festival-goers in booking their taxi rides. GrabTaxi will also be offering special discounts to all festivalgoers that book a ride using the GrabTaxi app and the promo code “FMFA15”.
CARNIVAL WITHIN A FESTIVAL
To add to the spectacle of the festival, several carnival elements will be introduced to ensure revellers get a holistic experience. Several carnival rides will be set up including a Carousel, Bumper Car Ride, Gryospin Ride, Meteorite and a never before seen in Singapore, Stage Dive. Also there will be sections where partygoers can rest and recharge with hammocks and bean bags which will be located close to an extensive food village which will feature some of the best food operators from Singapore, Malaysia and even Thailand.
FOR A GREATER EXPERIENCE – PRIVATE CABANAS & THE FIRST CLASS ARENA
For those looking to take their party experience to a different level, they could literally do so with the VVIP Private Cabanas going at SGD10,000 each for two-days. These elevated cabanas apart from providing an aerial view of the festival grounds and a fantastic view of the main stage comes with a 250 sq. ft. private area, access to the cabana for 15 people, private bars, private toilets and 4 bottles of liquor with mixers for both days.
In addition to this there will also be a VIP Lounge – The First Class Arena – which features an elevated terrace and lounge that overseas the Supernova and Future Live stages. VIP tickets are priced at SGD388. This VIP Lounge will act as a club within the festival and is indoors, air-conditioned, and also includes its own private toilets. Also there will be a variety of exclusive services in the VIP Lounge such as bottle service, foot massages and even food catering.

Music maturity came swiftly for the now seasoned-veteran Robbert van de Corput, better known as Hardwell. At the age of 25, the young Dutch titan capped off a 10 year journey when he was crowned World’s No.1 DJ in the 2013 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll cementing his position as the electronic scenes newest superstar DJ and becoming the youngest ever winner of the coveted Top 100 DJs award. Having already created a legacy that would put most of his counterparts to shame this award-winning DJ, producer, musician, label manager, lover of all things music has not only helped shape the current state of EDM, but has left an everlasting imprint on it.
Like his great mentor Tiësto, Hardwell proudly hails from Breda, a city tucked deep within the Netherlands. Having first established his name at the tender age of 14, Hardwell has since elevated his clubland standing to impressive, dizzying heights. His serving of big room bangers over the past year has seen a bundle of anthems sweep charts and dancefloors worldwide. Label boss of Revealed Recordings and having landed 6 consecutive #1’s on Beatport, his studio output has never been more prolific or more on point. Records such as his anthemic hit ‘Spaceman’, ‘Three Triangles (Losing My Religion)’, ‘Countdown’, ‘Jumper’, alongside the hard-hitting track, ‘Apollo’ and his scorching collaboration with Dyro and Bright Lights, ‘Never Say Goodbye’ became some of the most played tracks this summer 2013.
Through his refreshing sound that is characterized by complex drum ensembles, daring synths, and emotive chords, Hardwell has created the ultimate recipe for “Big Room House”. His productions are received with such great praise and acclaim; it seems his shelf life is endless. As his reputation grows amongst the world’s partygoers, so does his status. First entering the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll at #24 in 2011, Hardwell rose to #6 in the 2012 edition of the poll, before being crowned World #1 DJ in the 2013 poll – seeing off fierce competition from the likes of Avicii and Armin van Buuren and following in footsteps of electronic icons Tiësto and David Guetta.
The “fresh and open-minded” approach he has taken with his label Revealed Recordings has led to the imprint gaining international momentum and having produced a cluster of hits since its inception back in 2013, as well as giving rise to a new generation of artists that included Dyro, Dannic, Julian Calor and Kill The Buzz. Another success in the labels armoury is its celebrated compilation series ‘Hardwell Presents Revealed’ which offers listeners a true box ready taste into the current trends at the heart of the labels musical output.
Moreover, his record label Revealed Recordings has also grown to become a dominant force as a globetrotting tour brand in its own right named ‘Hardwell presents Revealed’, having staged events in America, Greece, Switzerland, Austria and Netherlands.
In March of 2011, Hardwell launched his very own radio show and podcast, Hardwell On Air, which is broadcasted on more than 35 international radio stations, including Holland’s top dance station, SLAM!FM, Sirius XM in the US, and Radio FG in France and Belgium. Additionally, the podcast has a solid spot in the iTunes Top 10 Podcasts in more than 40 countries.
As a producer his ratio of releases to hits is extraordinary. In 2011 his collaboration single with Tiësto – ‘Zero 76’ was one of the biggest club tracks of that year and to date the music video has received over 14 million views on YouTube. The single went #1 in the Beatport and #1 in the US iTunes chart. That same year his solo record ‘Cobra’ went to #1 in the dance charts in Holland and Top 10 on Beatport.
2012 saw even more success with his remixes of Rihanna’s track ‘Where Have You Been’ and The Wanted’s ‘Chasing the Sun’ both reaching #1 on Billboard’s Dance Chart. His collaboration remix with Dannic for UK pop star Example’s, ‘Say Nothing’, received a #1 spot in the Cool Cut Chart, while Tiësto and Hardwell’s remix for ‘Young Blood’, by the indie rock band The Naked And Famous, became the festival circuit’s summer anthem.
Hardwell also collaborated alongside Showtek to produce the track ‘How We Do’, with the music video premiering on MTV US. However, Hardwell’s biggest track of 2012 was the solo-original known as ‘Spaceman’, which is regarded by media critics and peers alike as one of the EDM scenes biggest timeless anthems. ‘Spaceman’ was released in over 25 countries worldwide, scored a #1 place in the Beatport chart and to date has clocked in more than 15 million views on YouTube.
At the tail end of 2012 Hardwell released the hard-hitting organic track, ‘Apollo’, featuring Amba Shepherd. Much like its predecessor, ‘Apollo’ would propel Hardwell’s name into the spotlight and ignite a global phenomenon around his infectious releases and DJ sets. Such was the foray around his name at this time that dance music icon Pete Tong invited Hardwell to make his debut on the hallowed decks of BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix in November 2012, where Hardwell’s prowess was so distinctively displayed.
Having featured for the first time on the mainstage of Ultra Music Festival only one year prior (2012), Hardwell’s position as a mainstage stealing DJ was affirmed in 2013 when he returned to the renowned Miami event. Armed with a body of fresh and unheard music, most notably is landmark hit single ‘Never Say Goodbye’, his performance at the 2013 Miami Ultra Music Festival would go on to become the thing of legends. Clocking up a staggering 6 million views in just 8 weeks, Hardwell’s set broke all records for the most watched Ultra live broadcast during UMF with over 80,000 people watching his set via the feed. During his set, Hardwell’s Twitter account was using 20% of Twitter’s overall bandwidth with his name was trending worldwide with such intensity that it caused Twitter to temporarily shut down his account – yes, he broke Twitter!
Following on from his 2012 Tomorrowland set, which to date has received over 18 millions views on YouTube and was dubbed by many as a contender for the best set of the year, Hardwell returned to the mainstage of Tomorrowland in 2013 where he played yet another inimitable set that took a frenzied Tomorrowland audience on a ride of a lifetime. This time the liveset amassed in excess of 1 million views in just a few days and has currently been viewed over 12 million times on YouTube; the inexorable rate at which his DJ sets are viewed by fans around the world has made him the single most in demand liveset artist in the electronic scene today.
A true festival–straddling superstar his sets have conquered arena’s at the most prestigious and crowd-pleasing of parties in the world such as Ultra Music Festival Miami, Electronic Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Electric Zoo, Creamfields, UMF Europe, Coachella, EDC London, Future Music Festival, TomorrowWorld, Global Gathering, Mysteryland, Dance Valley and various Sensations, including Amsterdam’s. At each and every show his fans litter the crowd awash in banners, flags and t-shirts’ bearing his name. A gesture Hardwell still finds touching, stating; “the commitment and effort the fans put into the shows with their signs and energy on the dancefloor is incredible. I’ll never be able to thank them enough.”
As a DJ his global headliner status has led to endless sold-out shows around the world at venues from Ministry of Sound in London to Green Valley in Brazil. Debuting in Ibiza in 2010 when he was personally invited by Tiësto to perform with him at his now legendary Club Life event at Privilege. Hardwell’s 2013 Ibiza excursion saw him grow into one of the biggest headline acts on the island with roadblock shows at Ushuaia, Pacha, Space, Cream @ Amnesia, plus Cream’s Radio 1 live event @ Privilege, and led to him winning the ‘Electro House DJ Award’ at the 2013 DJ Awards in Ibiza.
However, it is perhaps his impact in the North American scene that has been the most impressive. Kicking of 2013 with a nationwide Revealed Presents Canadian Bus Tour, Hardwell, joined by support DJs Dyro and Dannic, took in country’s finest clubs from New City Gas in Montreal to The Guvernment in Toronto and left a colossal marker of musical intent. His exclusive residency at Hakkasan Las Vegas with his ‘Go Hardwell Or Go Home’ event series has cemented his position as one of the forerunning DJ stars in the US club scene, generating much acclaim from the worlds media and clubbers alike. This was also followed with a nationwide ‘Go Hardwell Or Go Home’ tour that took in venues across America.
In April 2013 Hardwell launched his most ambitious project to date when he unveiled his I Am Hardwell world tour concept at Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall to a 6000 capacity crowd. A spectacle of unprecedented musical vision and production detail, the entire show was broadcast live on a HD feed to 100,000’s of fans around the world and placed a solid marker to the immense popularity of Hardwell’s position within the dance community. After the successful kick off of his I Am Hardwell World Tour in Amsterdam last April, Hardwell is now on the road with worldwide travels for this new tour new concept. The first phase of the tour saw sold-out shows in Jakarta, Singapore, Bangalore, Mumbai, Lisbon, London, with further shows coming in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Mexico City, Tel Aviv, Guatemala City, Manchester, Sao Paulo, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney coming up, I Am Hardwell is set to become one of the must see shows of 2013/2014.
In October 2013, during Amsterdam Dance Event, Hardwell held the world premiere of his ‘I Am Hardwell’ documentary in Amsterdam’s oldest and most famous cinema, Tuschinski. The documentary provides a captivating inside-look on Hardwell’s rise. With the motto – “If you can dream it, you can do it”. The film is now being shown in selected cinemas around the world.
But it is his relationship with his fans which sets him apart from his peers. Through his popular Q&A series on YouTube Hardwell’s personal side is displayed, where he answers the most begging of questions his fans have to offer. As said by Hardwell himself, “With the opportunities of social media today, it’s super easy to be in direct contact with your fans, however it’s impossible to respond to each and everyone through Twitter or Facebook. That’s why I came up with this idea, to give my fans the opportunity to ask me their questions and to have the chance to answer them in a fun and engaging way!” And talking of social media his meteoric rise up into the higher echelons of the dance community has seen his fan base swell in recent months. With over 2.2 million likes on Facebook, more than 900k on Twitter and in excess of 120 million hits on his YouTube channel, Hardwell is also rapidly solidifying his place as one of the electronic scenes most ‘clicked on’ artists.
The rise of Hardwell as a young boy from the city of Breda into a ripened international super-heavyweight has become an inspiring tale for all. Coming full circle from a dream to reality of wanting to become the ‘#1 DJ in the World’, we can be assured that the Hardwell name, face, and brand is a force that will drive electronic dance music for years to come….
Music maturity came swiftly for the now seasoned-veteran Robbert van de Corput, better known as Hardwell. At the age of 24, the ripened heavyweight has created a legacy that would put most of his counterparts to shame. An award-winning DJ, producer, musician, label manager, lover of all things music, and #6 ranked in the DJ Mag Top 100, Hardwell has not only helped shape the current state of EDM, but has left an everlasting imprint.
Like his great mentor Tiësto, Hardwell proudly hails from Breda, a city tucked deep within the Netherlands. At the young age of 13, Hardwell’s talents were so advanced that he was able capture the ears of a major Dutch label. Shortly after signing, Hardwell was spinning at all the major clubs across the Netherlands. Hardwell’s international breakthrough came with his “Show Me Love vs. Be” bootleg, which
became one of the popular and played dance hits of 2009. From this point on, a star was born.
Through his refreshing sound that is characterized by complex drum ensembles, daring synths, and emotive chords, Hardwell has created the ultimate recipe for “Big Room House.” His productions are received with such great praise and acclaim, it seems his shelf life is endless. As his reputation grows amongst the world’s partygoers, so does his status. He was recently voted #6 in the 2012 edition of the DJ Mag Top 100, the most prestigious of industry competitions. In tandem with his worldwide popularity is his “fresh and open-minded” label Revealed Recordings, which continues to gain international momentum.
With the launching of Revealed in 2010, so did Hardwell’s celebrated compilation series. Hardwell Presents Revealed offers listeners with a representative aural compilation of Revealed’s stance on the current trends driving EDM.
In March of 2011, Hardwell launched his very own radio show and podcast, Hardwell On Air, which is broadcasted on more than 25 international radio stations, including Holland’s top dance station, SLAM! FM, Sirius XM in the US, and Radio FG in France and Belgium. Additionally, the podcast has a solid spot in the iTunes Top 10 Podcasts in more than 30 countries.
The buck did not stop there. In 2011, Hardwell released juggernaut tracks like “Encoded,” a YouTube sensation, “Zero 76”, a collaboration with Tiësto topping the #1 Beatport and #1 US iTunes spot, and “Cobra,” a tune that went to #1 in the dance charts in Holland and Top 10 on Beatport’s Progressive House chart.
2012 has seen as much success as the previous years with the recent remixes of Rihanna’s track “Where Have You Been” and The Wanted’s “Chasing the Sun” reaching #1 on Billboard’s Dance Chart. Hardwell and Dannic’s remix for Example, “Say Nothing,” received a #1 spot in the Cool Cut Chart, while Tiësto & Hardwell’s remix for “Young Blood,” by the indie rock band The Naked And Famous, became the festival
circuit’s summer anthem. Hardwell has also collaborated alongside Showtek to produce the track “How We Do,” with the music video premiered on MTV US. However, Hardwell’s biggest track of 2012 has been the solo-original better known as “Spaceman,” which has seen more sets, bootlegs, and remixes than any of his previous releases. “Spaceman” was released in over 25 countries worldwide and its infectious hooks will be heard for ages. Next, Hardwell’s “Three Triangles,” released on Mark Knight’s label, Toolroom, and “Kontiki,” co-produced with rising star Dannic, hit the Beatport Top 10. Finally, Hardwell’s most recent undertaking has been his hard-hitting organic track, “Apollo,” featuring Amba Shepherd. Aside from his releases, Hardwell took to the decks of Pete Tong’s famous BBC Essential Mix, where Hardwell’s prowess was so distinctively displayed.
As for his live component, one could start by looking at Hardwell’s 2012 Tomorrowland set, which has reached millions of views on YouTube has been dubbed by many as a contender for the best set of the year. Hardwell has headlined the most prestigious and crowd-pleasing of festivals in the world such as Electronic Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Zoo, Creamfields, Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, and various Sensations, including Amsterdam’s. Hardwell’s personal side is also displayed in his Q&A series on YouTube, where he answers the most begging of questions his fans have to offer. As said by Hardwell himself, “With the opportunities of social media today, it’s super easy to be in direct contact with your fans, however it’s impossible to respond to each and everyone through Twitter or Facebook. That’s how I came up with this idea, to give my fans the opportunity to ask me their questions and to have the chance to answer them in a fun way!”
Besides showcasing his talents for major artists worldwide, and proving himself not only in the studio, but also behind the decks, we can be assured that the Hardwell name, face, and brand is a force that will drive electronic dance music for years to come.
Without doubt the most exciting and fast rising name to emerge from the progressive & trance scenes this past 18 months is young Ukrainian DJ / producer Omnia who recently jumped into the Top 50 in the prestigious DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll at #48.
Having already made waves as a standout, festival rocking DJ in his homeland in recent years, Omnia has recently transformed himself into a breakout and in-demand producer on a global scale after dropping a devastating sequence of releases that have included several Beatport #1s. As with the rise of Arty before him, Omnia has picked-up the baton to lead the Eastern European EDM takeover in 2013 with notable highlights in a packed DJ schedule including festivals such as Global Gathering UK & Ukraine, Ultra Argentina, A State Of Trance 600 Holland, Trancefusion Czech Republic, Summadayze Australia as well as global club brands such as Ministry Of Sound, Zouk, Papaya, Privilege & Eden Ibiza, Ageha and Ellui.
Omnia’s imagination was first captured by dance music sounds as a young boy in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. By his late teens Omnia had started to experiment with music production with a particular love of trance, but with influences drawn from many genres that have been his passion for over a decade. Self-taught in the studio, Omnia’s sound has a distinctive edge and a style that refuses to be pigeon holed. His productions started to gain international recognition in 2011 with the likes of Armin van Buuren and Markus Schulz supporting his early releases which included a remix of Arty & Mat Zo ‘Rebound’.
While 2011 was an exciting year for Omnia musically, not even he could have anticipated the massive breakthrough year he’d have in 2012. The catalyst for this was Omnia & Ira ‘The Fusion’ which went on to be one of the biggest tracks of the year across all dance genres, hitting #1 in the Trance chart in April and remaining in the Top 50 positions for over six months. He went on to repeat chart success time and time again, raising the bar of his studio output to deliver a run of massive singles and remixes; ‘Halo’ feat. Melissa Loretta was awarded ‘Future Favourite’ by Armin on ASOT and further chart topping singles followed with ‘Infina’ and ‘Hearts Connected’ feat. Cathy Burton, plus remixes of similar stature provided for Cosmic Gate feat. Emma Hewitt ‘Calm Down’ and Ashley Wallbridge feat. Audrey Gallagher ‘Bang The Drum’. Each release left the EDM community spellbound and further fuelled demand for the distinctive Omnia sounds.
Moving into 2013 and Omnia has maintained his momentum on the production front to ensure his name is pushed to the top of DJ, fan and record label wish-lists the world over. Further standout releases include Beatport #1 singles ‘The Light’ and ‘Immersion’, a remix of Ronski Speed feat. Showtek are Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen, two brothers who live for electronic dance music. Showtek have passion they turn into creation, producing music that shattered all expectations in just under a decade of hitting the scene. Showtek have sold out shows in all four corners of the globe on the biggest stages and stunned at every turn. Showtek go bigger and better with every hit, cruising to the Beatport Top 5 an unprecedented 5 times straight and the best is yet to come. Showtek are the hottest act of 2013 right now; this is their year, their show.
Smashing their way into the dance elite in a few short years, they behold a career that exists in most producers’ wet dream. Starting out in a quiet town of the Netherlands they were fuelled by bringing the biggest and best music to the world and in 2012, this was emphatically realized. Named as the #17 musical exports of their home country they are leading the Dutch movement dominating the airwaves around the globe. Tipped by musical gospels from Dancing Astronaut to Billboard and loved by fans of all spheres, all eyes are on Showtek to see what masterpieces this year and beyond will bring. Picking up awards and smashing records as they blast through 2013, the future is only set to for the stratosphere.
Showtek can never be tied down; their music breaks boundaries and transitions as they gather inspiration around the world. Never in one place, they do have one natural home – the dance world – residing there to wow fans that agonize for more and more. From the second they launched the astonishing debut album ‘Today Is Tomorrow’ in 2007, expectations from music authorities and dance-lovers reached hysteria. Destroying expectancy on all counts, Showtek hit with the coveted ‘Essential Mix’ on BBC Radio 1. The first of their kind to do so it was heard the world over, and the global stage was set.
Setting the stage alight is what Showtek do best, and in typical fashion the second album ‘Analogue Players in a Digital World’ left talent and tastemakers spellbound. Unveiled in 2009 at the prestigious ‘Amsterdam Dance Event’ (ADE) it garnered global awards and powered the two through to tracks that progressed in technical prowess, crossing over genres like no act had done before. ‘Expansion’, ‘Beats Of Life’ and ‘Breakbeat Junkie’ came thick and fast, making Showtek the act producers far and wide wanted to work with. Showtek’s next move in their domination was thus obvious – teaming up with megastars on their production level. Dance royalty and powerful new friend, Tiesto, joined the team on ‘Hell Yeah!’ and served as the perfect platform to showcase their superstar status. In a shot, it fired into the Top 10.
Like a light bulb moment, Showtek’s next masterstroke was to test their gift for production with the baying DJ’s looking to match their talents. ‘Crazy Collabs’ was born and in just a year it has produced Beatport wanders bursting at the seams of esteemed clubs and global dance destinations. ‘How We Do’ with Hardwell shot up the charts to #1 in just a week and on NYE, ‘Hey!’ with young upstarts Bassjackers went straight to the top of the world’s soundtrack for 2013. All the while, ‘Cannonball’ with Justin Prime was gaining pace at a rate of knots and this Miami season they were decorated for their hard work and awarded the sought after Gold Award for record sales in different countries! The path for greatness has now been laid for the collaboration with Noisecontrollers on ‘Get Loose’ to reach sky-high on Skrillex label ‘Owsla’.
With Crazy Collabs in full swing, it’s astonishing Showtek can keep original productions rolling. Never to leave anything on the backburner, ‘Crunk / Slow Down’ on the coveted Dim Mak imprint was released, with the latter making it 5 Top 5’s in a row.
What Showtek have achieved with their music is nothing short of phenomenal. Leaving no stone unturned, the brothers have pushed it the limit and ventured into the realms of Pop and R&B. Work for Chris Brown and Carly Rae Jepsen, Medina, Jason Derulo has left people captivated by their skills. Music simply means the world to Showtek, and their music means the world to fans of all kinds, cultures far reaching and the world over. Showtek are becoming not just legends of dance, but legends of music.
