Following the direction of the Vietnamese government, Vietjet has cooperated with relevant Vietnamese agencies within the country and overseas to bring Vietnamese citizens home in response to the citizens’ wishes and in line with the country’s quarantine capacity.

On July 18, Vietjet operated an international flight bringing 240 Vietnamese citizens from the Philippines back home safely. The flight departed from Ninoy Aquino International Airport and arrived at Can Tho International Airport in Southern Vietnam for a required 14-day quarantine. In July, Vietjet has also operated three other repatriation flights from Singapore, Taiwan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The airline is expected to operate four more flights to bring more Vietnamese citizens from the Philippines, Russia, Brunei, Indonesia and Myanmar home in the near future.

Passengers on the repatriation flight are categorized in the priority group, including children under 18, the elderly, pregnant women, people with health problems, workers with expired labor contracts and no accommodation, students without residence due to dormitory disclosure and other particularly difficult circumstances.

Vietjet expects to bring nearly 10,000 Vietnamese citizens abroad safely back home by the end of July, fully complying with entry requirements and quarantine upon arrival. All Vietjet flights are in accordance with global supreme standards and recommendations from authorities, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in order to ensure the safety of all passengers and crews before, during and after the flights.

In the early stage of the COVID-19 outbreak, Vietjet has quickly launched a campaign to repatriate passengers with many free flights and one-way ferry flights to bring Vietnamese and foreign citizens back home. All of passengers, cabin crew, vehicles and aircraft are completely safe. Besides, Vietjet transported thousands of tons of essential goods, medical equipment. The carrier also donated more than 2.5 million medical masks to the people of the UK, France, Germany and the US to support the countries in preventing and repelling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on the results of repatriation flights, Vietjet will continue to work closely with the authorities and the Government to adjust the flight frequencies in accordance with the actual situation; increase repatriation and commercial flights to bring Vietnamese citizens back home. Currently, the airline has completed preperations to resume international flights and been awaiting official approval from the Government.

Vietjet celebrates the festive season with the biggest promotion of the year entitled “Fly enthusiastically – Celebrate the festive season”. As part of the promotion, 2 million air tickets priced from only VND0 (*) are up for grabs starting 28 December 2017 to 28 February 2018 between the golden hours of 1pm to 3pm (Malaysian time) daily at www.vietjetair.com. Passengers flying during this promotional period will also get the chance to win free tickets and cash prizes worth up to VND1 billion.

On the first week of the promotion, which starts from 28 – 30 December 2017, Vietjet will be offering millions of promotional tickets priced from only VND0. The promotion is applicable on all of Vietjet’s domestic and international routes from Vietnam to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia); Seoul, Busan (South Korea); Hong Kong; Kaohsiung, Taipei, Tainan, Taichung (Taiwan); Singapore; Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai (Thailand); Yangon (Myanmar) and Siem Reap (Cambodia). The travel period will be from 3 January 2018 to 31 May 2018 (**).

Passengers flying on all Vietjet’s domestic and international routes (***) during the promotional period will also get a chance to take part in a lucky draw which could see them walking away with a roundtrip domestic ticket, daily cash prize of up to VND10,000,000 as well as a special grand prize worth VND100,000. In addition, passengers could also stand a chance to win a pair of domestic or international return tickets via the online game “Vietjet Sky Fun”.

The Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Vietnam was recently awash with a vivid display of colour as Vietjet transformed the airport into a fashion runway in celebration of Vietnamese Women’s Day, the first time a catwalk performance was held there.

The new-aged budget carrier launched a series of activities to commemorate the special day, which is celebrated biannually in Vietnam, including the special catwalk displaying ten impressive traditional Ao Dai dresses by well-known fashion designer Thuan Viet. Passengers on board flight VJ126 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi also had the exclusive privilege of enjoying the catwalk up-close as Vietjet took the performance to the skies.

The collection of Ao Dai dresses which incorporates popular Vietnamese myths such as Tam Cam, Son Tinh-Thuy Tinh and Au Co Lac Long Quan were specially hand-drawn by designer Thuan Viet himself. Vietnamese supermodel Vo Hoang Yen ruled the catwalk alongside Vietjet’s team of models to beautifully showcase the collection which was created using 3D printing techniques.

As part of the celebration, passengers – particularly women on board Vietjet flights on 20 October were also treated to exclusive gifts and vouchers including cosmetics from leading American skincare brand, Murad. Vietjet also gave passengers a chance to win other valuable prizes through a lucky draw conducted on board the flights.
