The 7th Annual environmentally themed Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) has announced the official lineup of local and international environmental films to be screened at this year’s event. After a five month open submission period – during which local and international filmmakers submitted their films to be considered for the 2014 KLEFF – KLEFF official judges selected 75 films to be screened at the event, held at Publika Mall 17-19 October, 2014. The films selected represent 24 countries, 19 of which are from Malaysia.
The full list of 2014 KLEFF films can be found on the KLEFF website www.ecofilmfest.my.
The KLEFF has also chosen six films as “official selections”: DamNation, Emptying the Skies, GMO OMG, Plastic Paradise, Trashed, and Revolution. These films were selected because judges felt they capture some of the most important contemporary environmental issues both domestic and international.
In addition to film screenings, the 7th Annual KLEFF also features a wide assortment of Eco-vendors, environmentally themed workshops and talks for adults and children, and musical performances. Workshops include topics such as backyard composting, upcycling, indoor and edible gardens, and seedball and worm farm making, while talks will feature starscape photography and storytelling.
