Video Games Live Concert will be held on the 27th of February 2016, at Stadium Negara. Its promoters, 11 To 11 Events Sdn. Bhd. has released further information on the show. Not only will the Video Games Concert be a show that combines the grandiose of a 30-piece orchestra (the National Symphony Orchestra of Istana Budaya) with electrifying guitar solos, a choir and vocalist all against a backdrop of a 82 foot video wall featuring super heavy electronic video effects with imagery from Warcraft and Pac-Man to Zelda and Mario. It promises to be an audio-video explosion of music and the digital world of gaming and cosplay.
For the first time ever a Video Games Live concert will feature an opening act. Video Games Live The Concert 2016 will feature Armon, a new band with a new unique sound. Armon is a brand of music which can be said to be authentic and original. Using rap as a medium of delivery and one of the few using Alternative Hip Hop as a genre; Armon plays on new-wave synthesized music and natural instrumental music to give his tracks a flavour like none other. Being able to play instruments such as the tabla, electrical organ, as well as electrical and analogue music production enables Armon to diversify his abilities in each of his tracks.
Highly passionate in what he does, Armon is determined to create a melodious composition of something distinctive, catchy and current. A lot of emphasis also lies in the craftsmanship of the lyrics, as he believes on the power of sending positive message through his music. On stage, he combines his musicality and his ability to sincerely interact with the audience with is high energy to give the audience a complete, exciting, sincere and truly engaging performance.
Over the years, he has shared stage with the likes of James Baum, Point Blank, Rhythm Nation, Hard Candy, Blister, Balan Kashmir, Russell Curtis, Jay Walia, and opened for notable acts like Nicole Scherzinger, Reshmonu and Girls’ Generations.
With the success of the Video Games Live’s Game On competition (www.11pass11.com/gameon2) that was held earlier this year allowing participants to cos-play their favourite game characters to life through pictures. As the interactive side of VGL, the competition was a huge success with participants from Singapore and Indonesia, among others.
This time the organisers are relaunching Game On 2.0 to invite even more fans to take part, with the competition open to those from not just Malaysia but also Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Phillipines, South Korea and Japan! And this relaunch will expand the competition to 3 categories – 1. Cos-play picture entries, 2. Creative entries (any type of artwork, eg. paintings, etchings, watercolours etc. 3. Video entries – all 3 categories are video games themed and entries must be related to video games. From each category will be selected 1 winner, and each winner will be getting prizes worth RM2,000+ for each winner!
