The electronic dance music scene in Malaysia continues to evolve with the advent of Bass Culture Asia, which is set to raze the roof of Mega Star Arena in the heart of Kuala Lumpur on 4th November 2023, with another top selection of musical acts, both local and international.
Organised by AG Group Global, Bass Culture Asia (BCA) will be a memorable journey through the realms of electronic music. Aimed at fulfilling the immense hunger of dance music fans within the region, especially for those who are passionate about and are longing for trance and hardstyle, Bass Culture Asia: The Rising has officially revealed its first batch of electronic music artistes to the public after listening to all of your feedback.

Among the first international acts to be announced are legendary hardstyle duo TNT made up of Italian hardstyle deejay & producer Cristiano Giusberti, known by his primary stage name Technoboy, and hardstyle deejay & producer Antonio Donà a.k.a Tuneboy, both from Bologna.
Technoboy’s biggest hits include ‘War Machine’, ‘Rage’, ‘Into Deep’, ‘Oh My God’, and the Qlimax 2008 Anthem ‘Next Dimensional World’ and has played at Defqon.1 Festival, Bionic (UK), Sensation, Mondo (Edinburgh UK), Qlimax, Mystery Land, In Qontrol, Hard Bass, X-Qlusive, Fantazia (Glasgow), Decibel etc., and in Clubs like Hemkade 48, The Bridge, Index (Earthquake 2003), Tropicana, OXA, Ministry of Dance, Locomotion, Plaza di Christo, Vat 69 (2Fast4Trance), The Melkweg, and Club Sans Souci (The Zone).
Tuneboy has produced over 500 tracks supported by the biggest international names on the scene and played at parties such as Parties like Qlimax, Defqon, X-Qlusive, In Qontrol, Decibel, HardBass, Tomorrowland, Dance Valley, Black, Q-Base and now Bass Culture Asia.
Technoboy & Tuneboy are the pioneers of the energetic sounds of hardstyle.
Joining them on the big stage at Mega Star Arena will be the trending duo OverDrive, made up of Hard Trance/Tech/Hardstyle deejays & producers Jesse Pedro & Christian Jay from Melbourne Australia. The duo is expected to ignite the night with their stimulating music and drop beats that will have Malaysia shaking to the core..
Also in the line up is Scottish trance & techno deejay and record producer DJ Mark Sherry. The always on the pulse Sherry has remixes on Outburst Records/Techburst Records, Reset (Spinnin), Armada, Mental Asylum, High Contrast, Lange & Detox, and is guaranteed to have you dancing till dawn.
Next on the list is deejay and producer DJ Isaac (Roel Schutrupsoel), from The Netherlands. He is one of the founders of hardstyle and has been at the forefront of harder dance music; a position he now holds for over 20 years. Always sticking his head out for new revolutions in sound, Schutrupsoel is a regular headliner at the world’s biggest dance festivals and events like Electric Daisy Carnival, Defqon.1 Festival, Qlimax and Decibel Outdoor. He is responsible for big hits like ’DJ, Ease My Mind’, ‘B*tches, ‘Digital Nation‘ and Stick Em’ and remixes for Martin Garrix, Dash Berlin, Yellow Claw & Showtek.
Also joining the incredible line up of acts for BCA, is new BBC Radio 1 resident Will Atkinson, who is an entity that truly congers up futuristic soundscapes for the jilted generation. Responsible for over 100 BBC Radio 1 airplays and 6 Beatport number 1s, the ambidextrous Atkinson who cannot be restrained by genre, began mixing records at the tender age of 7. He has certainly come of age with a long list of hit records that includes “Pat Butcher”, “Victims”, “Numb The Pain”, “Subconscious”, “Mesmerize” (ft Rowetta from The Happy Mondays), “The Gamer Changer”, “Fresh Meat”, all of which, are genre defining, chart topping, iconic titles that have set the bar uncomfortably high for Will’s peers to try and follow.
Having released on all of the scene’s coolest labels including Subculture, Kearnage, FSOE, Spinnin’, Armada, Perfecto Fluoro and Vandit, the demand for Will’s production skills is truly rampant. His tour schedule reads like a catalogue of the coolest festivals and clubs in the world with regular peak time slots at EDC Vegas, EDC Mexico, Dreamstate all over the US, Beyond Wonderland, Creamfields, Luminosity, BAT Buenos Aires, Subculture Australia, Earthcore, ASOT and now bass Culture Asia in Kuala Lumpur.
The local line up that has been announced so far includes crowd favourites deejay, producer and radio celebrity Ramsey Westwood, international globetrotters Chukiess & Whackboy, who need no introduction, EDM vocalist Amin Salmee whose tracks have been making waves with top labels like Warner Music Malaysia, Black Hole Recordings (The Netherlands) & Armada Music (The Netherlands), the iconic Mister Ariffin, DJ duo Techwoot B2B Azwa, and DJ duo Smash B2B Yunn.
