KUALA LUMPUR: Cempaka Cahaya Sdn. Bhd. has officially launched CarePod, an AI-powered healthcare kiosk designed to expand access to medical services, early disease screening, and integrated digital consultation across Malaysia, particularly in rural and remote communities.

The launch forms part of the company’s digital transformation agenda to develop a more inclusive, sustainable, and accessible healthcare system. By integrating medical technology with structured digital systems, CarePod aims to enhance early disease detection and accelerate medical intervention.
The launch ceremony was graced by Dato’ Dr. Suhaimi bin Ibrahim, Chairman of KOBENA, as Guest of Honour, reflecting strong institutional support for the country’s digital healthcare development.
Integrated Healthcare Innovation Platform
CarePod was fully developed by DR Solutions, the healthcare technology subsidiary of Cempaka Cahaya Sdn. Bhd., ensuring comprehensive governance from system design to field deployment.
The kiosk integrates real-time vital sign monitoring, blood pressure measurement, body temperature assessment, respiratory rate, pulse and oxygen saturation monitoring, two-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) devices, Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), biochemistry panels, HbA1c testing, and rapid blood tests for diseases such as Dengue, Malaria, and Influenza.

In addition, the system is equipped with AI-driven clinical workflows, secure teleconsultation facilities, and digital referral and follow-up systems, enabling patient data to be remotely monitored by medical professionals.
Each kiosk is operated by trained medical assistants or nurses to ensure smooth, safe, and compliant clinical operations.
Global Digital Infrastructure and Academic Support
To ensure long-term system stability, CarePod is supported through collaboration with QuantumNexis Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of NASDAQ-listed Healthcare Triangle Inc. The company provides enterprise-grade healthcare cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity systems, and international compliance frameworks.
In parallel, strategic collaboration with the University of Malaya supports clinical research, public health modeling, and evidence-based validation through structured research and development programmes.

According to Cempaka Cahaya Sdn. Bhd. Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Balachandran Krishnan, the launch of CarePod represents a significant shift from reactive treatment toward a more structured and sustainable preventive healthcare approach.
Pilot Phase and Phased Implementation
The CarePod project is the result of nearly three years of development and is now fully operational. To date, more than 50 cases have been recorded through early system usage, with figures expected to rise in line with growing demand and strategic partnerships.
The pilot phase will begin with the installation of the first unit in urban areas before expansion into rural communities. A total of 400 participants will be selected for the trial programme, with services provided entirely free of charge as part of sponsored research initiatives.

Site selection will consider population density, healthcare needs, and area accessibility. All proposed locations are currently under assessment and evaluation.
Operations will be managed entirely by the company’s internal staff without involvement from the Ministry of Health personnel. Specialised training programmes have been implemented to ensure high operational competency.
Expanding Preventive Healthcare Access
CarePod focuses on early screening for major health risks including hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic disorders, respiratory complications, infectious diseases, and acute non-accidental medical conditions.
Through its secure and integrated digital ecosystem, the kiosk reduces diagnostic delays, improves access to professional consultation, and enhances early treatment effectiveness, particularly in underserved regions.
This initiative is expected to strengthen community healthcare networks, reduce treatment access gaps, and support the national medical digitalisation agenda.
Cempaka Cahaya Sdn. Bhd. is confident that CarePod will serve as a strategic platform for delivering high-quality healthcare services and improving overall public well-being nationwide.
