LADY GAGA To Open The 2013 “MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS” WITH “APPLAUSE”

The 2013 “MTV Video Music Awards” will raise its curtain with a thunderous first act as Lady Gaga (LadyGaga.MTV.com) will open the show with the debut live performance of “Applause,” the first single from her highly anticipated album ARTPOP from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on 26 August at 8am (TH/WIB) and 9am (SIN/HK/MAL/PH).

From her powerful and bloody rendition of “Paparazzi” to the gender bending, adrenaline fueled version of “You and I,” Lady Gaga is the mastermind behind some of the most memorable VMA performances in recent years. This year, she’ll continue that legacy with what’s sure to be an unforgettable performance of “Applause” from her forthcoming album, ARTPOP, available on 11 November.

As one of the most talked about and innovative artists of this generation, Lady Gaga has left an indelible mark on the “MTV Video Music Awards” by winning an astounding 13 Moonmen since 2009, including “Best New Artist,” “Video of the Year” for “Bad Romance” as well as “Best Video with a Message” for “Born This Way”.
