dimsum is pleased to premiere a singing show Top Singers on July 3. A top-rated Taiwanese show since 2010, a total of 26 episodes will be available in the new season and simulcast with Taiwan every Monday at 5pm.

Top Singers is a singing competition akin to “Super Idol” but with a twist as contestants will be competing fully in Hokkien dialect. Hosted by Best Host Award nominee Belle Yu and Emerson, this show provides a stage for outstanding singers and composers of Taiwanese songs, while featuring classic Taiwanese pop songs such as Yearning for the Spring Winds, Flowers in a Raining Night, The Romantic Dream by the River, The Redness in the Snow etc.

The show comprises the elements of contest, variety, songs and the stories of the locals and welcomes contestants of any age. It aims to discover grassroots singers of Taiwanese songs to find more talented people for the entertainment industry of Taiwan.

Led by Best Actor Shun Oguri, this is the first live-action tele-movie in Detective Conan SP. The plot takes place when Shinichi Kudo (Shun Oguri) was still a regular high-school student, before being poisoned by strange men in black who turned him into the diminutive Conan. On the night before his class trip, he finds a letter of challenge stating that one kid will be kidnapped during the trip with the message: “If you are able to prevent it, you win. But if you fail, I win. You will then have to give up your title of high-school detective”. When Sonoko (Mayuko Iwasa) vanishes, he must use his detective skill to find her and protect other students.

Based on a semi-biographical novel about the historic Suzuki Shoten, this is the story of a woman who turned a local sugar wholesaler into a world-class trading company, and of the man who helped her. The cast includes “Detective Conan” Shun Oguri and Japanese drama queen, Yuki Amami. Having married into Suzuki Shoten, a Kobe sugar wholesaler, Yone Suzuki (Yuki Amami) lives a stable life, raising her children while clashing with her strict and conservative husband Iwajirou. With her husband’s sudden death, however, Yone’s life changes course completely as she takes the helm of Suzuki Shoten, and from then on referred to as “Oie-san”. With the support and guidance of the company’s employee Kaneko Naokichi (Shun Ogori), Yone grows the company from a humble sugar wholesaler to one of Japan’s biggest trading company. But after surviving numerous difficulties, the pair are about to meet their greatest trial when the company is involved in the Rice Riots of 1918, facing a disastrous end.

Chosen as Best Film at the Japan Academy Prize ceremony, the remake tele-movie features Best Actresses Ryoko Shinohara and Tae Kimura, alongside Alice Hirose, Takaya Kamikawa and Rio Suzuki. Based on the novel Ai wo kou hito, the story is about a disturbing child abuse memory that comes back on a quest for her father’s grave. The love-starved protagonist, Terue, was horribly abused by her mother, Toyoko. As a result, Terue is hungry for love but doesn’t know how to be loved. Years later, Terue grows up and has a daughter Fukasa who is in senior high school. When she reunites with her estranged younger brother Tekenori, she recalls the suppressed memories of her miserable childhood. Then, with encouragement from Fukasa, Terue goes to Taiwan in search of her late father’s grave and learns something she never knew about her mother.

Hari ini, GOASEAN, pengeluar kandungan kreatif untuk mempromosikan sektor pelancongan ASEAN di Asia Tenggara yang pertama di dunia mengumumkan kerjasama baharu bersama tonton – portal dan aplikasi penstriman video nombor 1 di Malaysia, yang dimiliki oleh Media Prima Berhad (Media Prima) dan dimsum – perkhidmatan video-on-demand (VOD) secara langganan terbaru di Malaysia yang dikendalikan oleh SMG Entertainment Sdn Bhd (dahulunya dikenali sebagai Star Online Sdn Bhd, ahli Kumpulan Media Star). Kerjasama ini adalah sebahagian daripada pelan GOASEAN untuk meluaskan capaiannya dalam mempromosikan Asia Tenggara, seiring dengan kempen ASEAN@50 yang meraikan ulang tahun ke-50 ASEAN (Pertubuhan Negara-negara Asia Tenggara).

Pengeluar kandungan yang telah meraih pelbagai anugerah antarabangsa juga menawarkan 60 jam kandungan asal mereka yang mengetengahkan lokasi-lokasi menakjubkan merentasi 10 negara-negara Asia Tenggara. Semua kandungan asal GOASEAN, termasuklah The Eco Traveller yang memenangi anugerah di Amerika Syarikat akan dipaparkan dengan sarikata dalam Bahasa Mandarin di platform dimsum. Kandungan GOASEAN boleh mula diakses di tonton dan dimsum bermula April 2017.

Kerjasama dengan tonton yang terjalin pada 7 Mac 2017 merupakan penanda aras penting bagi GOASEAN kerana tonton telah mencapai lebih daripada 6.6 juta pengguna, dengan penambahan 18,000 ahli baharu setiap minggu. tonton menawarkan pelbagai kandungan melebihi 26,000 jam termasuk kandungan tempatan dan sindiket, siaran langsung eksklusif serta saluran premium yang boleh diakses pada bila-bila masa di mana sahaja. Oleh itu, penambahan segmen pelancongan berkualiti tinggi yang boleh diakses pada bila-bila masa di mana sahaja bakal mengukuhkan lagi nilai platform tersebut.
