Music fans are in for a treat this August 8th, with Californian ‘Cool Kids’ Echosmith set to rock KL Live at the first of a brand-new series of shows titled ‘Good Vibes Presents’. Conceived as a way of extending that festival feeling to Malaysia all year-round, ‘Good Vibes Presents’ will give fans the chance to see top international acts in a series of one-off shows in the run-up to the main Good Vibes Festival in 2016.
Headlining the very first show in this new series is US alt-pop band Echosmith, the four-piece family of musicians behind the smash-hit single ‘Cool Kids’. This show will mark the first time the band has performed in Malaysia. They will be supported by Sydney-based dance trio RÜFÜS – also performing in Malaysia for the first time – alongside local favourites DASH and Indiego & Co.
Tickets for the gig at KL Live on 8th August are on sale now, exclusively at www.boxtix.asia. As with the main Good Vibes Festival, early-birds will be able to purchase their tickets at a special discounted rate of RM80, with further phases of tickets released as the event date draws closer.
Details of further Good Vibes Presents shows and the main Good Vibes Festival itself, scheduled for 2016, will be revealed at a later date.

About Afrojack
Grammy award winning DJ and producer, Afrojack, is one of most notable and iconic names in electronic dance music (EDM) today. At only 26 years old he has made a large impact on the music industry and is a key player in the worldwide explosion and popularity of EDM. In 2013, Forbes magazine crowned him as #7 on ‘The World’s Highest Paid DJs List’ and this year The Hollywood Reporter called him ‘’a global icon’’ set ‘’to conquer the world.’’ A talented producer and artist Afrojack is versatile and creative with his sound whether creating club hits or producing and remixing for the likes of Beyoncé, Pitbull or Madonna. Afrojack is adept at shifting between genres and playing with his sound and it’s easy to see why his skills are some of the most sought after in the world.
Starting off in his hometown of Spijkenisse, Nick van de Wall aka Afrojack, quickly made a name for himself with a slew of hard-hitting underground releases, before exploding on the music scene in 2011 with the release of ‘Take Over Control’ - an instant worldwide club and chart hit the single reached platinum status in the U.S. Afrojack then went onto develop his own imprint in the production world with his label ‘Wall Recordings’ – a platform by which other passionate EDM artists could grow. He also wanted his label to retain the ‘club music’ brand, something he strives for with every Afrojack release. 2011 also saw Afrojack sign a landmark deal to become one of the first ever DJ’s to sign an annual residency in Las Vegas, at the legendary Wynn Hotel. The residency saw Afrojack perform over a dozen times a year at Wynn clubs including Encore Beach Club, Surrender, Tryst and XS.
From there the success continued; as well as making club hits and collaborating with the likes of David Guetta (co-writing and producing the worldwide smash ‘Titanium’), he also began to team up with and write for A-list pop artists around the world, including Madonna and Chris Brown. Last year got off to a monumental start when Afrojack signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Island Def Jam, Island UK and Universal Music Group. The deal saw Afrojack’s talent be recognized and supported by the renowned music label. The first project from the partnership was ‘The Spark’, a single that fused EDM and pop and showed a new sound for Afrojack as an artist. The year continued to be another huge one for Afrojack. For his fourth consecutive year he returned to headline Creamfields and at the Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowworld, he debuted his own ‘Jacked’ stage showcasing his Wall artists. He also found time to shoot a documentary web-series, ‘March of the Afrojack’, which gave fans an insight into the real person behind the Afrojack moniker. The series was released on the Rolling Stone website and saw Nick share many intimate moments and thoughts from his journey on the road along with his personal mantra “If I can do it, you can do it too.”
In late 2013 Afrojack made history as he became the first DJ to ring the closing bell at NASDAQ Stock Market Exchange in New York, as electronic dance company, SFX, went public. This also came in the same week as Afrojack cemented his hands into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the second DJ to ever do this and in doing so reinforced his position as a global music icon.
2014 is set to be another milestone year for Afrojack as he releases his second single ‘Ten Feet Tall’, starts a new DJ residency at Las Vegas hotspot Hakkasan and releases his debut album with Island Records. Boyce Avenue will be heading to Malaysia as part of their Asia Tour which will be held at KL LIVE on February 12. Organized by The Livescape Group, the one-night-only show is set to attract over 2,000 fans in what will be their first ever appearance in the country.
The band is made up of brothers, Alejandro who sings lead vocals, plays the guitar and piano, Fabian who plays the guitar and sings backing vocals, and Daniel who plays bass, percussion and also sings backing vocals. The brothers formed the band in 2004 and have been producing videos and sharing their original music as well as covers of popular songs on YouTube since 2007. The band boasts over 6.5 million YouTube subscribers, 1 billion total views, and over 290 videos on their main YouTube channel BoyceAvenue. They have also collaborated with other YouTube artistes such as David Choi, Kina Grannis, Alex Goot, Hannah Trigwell, Tyler Ward, Fifth Harmony, and many more.
The name of the band, Boyce Avenue, is derived from two street names which the brothers used to live on when they were younger. The sensational trio are among the first few internet celebrities to create music-focused channels on YouTube and have since gained a large number of subscribers on their respective YouTube channels. They are known for their collaboration in making covers of popular pop songs on YouTube.
The band’s debut album, All We Have Left includes singles such as “Every Breath”, On My Way” and “Broken Angel”. Boyce Avenue will independently re-release their album All We Have Left through their label, 3 Peace Records, founded in 2006 by the brothers. The band later released their first EP, No Limits, in 2014 which include singles such as “Speed Limit”, “I Had To Try” and “Scars”.

The Scottish post-rock band Mogwai (“Take Me Somewhere Nice”) often championed by the late John Peel of BBC Radio will take their brand of shoegazing, instrumental metal renditions to Urbanscapes’ Satellite Show. With a repertoire that contains tracks from the soundtrack for film The Fountain and French TV series, Les Revenants, and “RaveTapes” which became UK’s best selling vinyl album this year — Mogwai will offer a chilling, ethereal set that will chill the bones and sway the crowd.

The five piece alternative, pop rock band from Weybridge, Surrey, was formed in 2004 before they shot to fame in 2008 with the debut of their first album, Take Off Your Colours. Singles from this album include “Save It For The Bedroom”, “Finders Keepers” and “Kiss and Tell”. The singles “Finders Keepers” and “Kiss and Tell” peaked on the UK Singles Chart at No. 33 and No. 42 respectively.
After the success of their first album, the band released their second studio album in January 2010 titled Hold Me Down which reached number 5 in the UK. Singles from this album include “Underdog”, “Liquid Confidence” and “Stay With Me” which was released in September 2010. The song peaked at No. 53 in the UK Singles Chart. Their third album, Sinners Never Sleep, was released in the UK on October 2011 and in January 2014 the band released their fourth studio album, Cavalier Youth.
The band was nominated in the Kerrang! Awards for “Best British Band” for four years, finally winning the title in 2011 for “Best British Band”.
You Me At Six consists of four original members who formed the band in 2004 which are Josh Franceschi the lead vocalist, Max Helyer who plays the rhythm guitar and sings backing vocals, Chris Miller the lead guitarist and Matt Barnes who plays the bass guitar. The newest member is Dan Flint who joined the band in 2007, before the debut of their first album. He plays the drums and percussions.
