So, what happens when Malaysia joins forces with Singapore and tickles your funny bone? You die of laughter, of course! The first of its kind in Malaysia, “Laugh Die You” will bring the best of comedy from Malaysia and Singapore on one stage. This comedy event will feature the ever so funny, our very own Malaysian stand-up comedian, Douglas Lim take on Singapore’s uber funny, motormouth queen, Kumar, on May 14th and 15th 2015 at the HGH Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

A show like no other, this highly anticipated comedy show will be hosted by the very hilarious Mr. Phua Chu Kang himself, Gurmit Singh. “It is going to be a fantastic comedy show. It will showcase a distinctive take on Malaysian vs. Singaporean comedy. Be prepared as well to be entertained by the best in Singapore, JB and some even say Batam”, said Gurmit Singh. This two and half hours comedy show will also feature home-grown stand-up comedian, Rizal van Geyzel. As a post-event entertainment to this show, audience can be expected to be entertained by Malaysian rock band, Hydra. Organised by Popcorn Studio Sdn Bhd, this fun filled comedy night that features comedy kings and queen of Malaysia and Singapore respectively, is expected to slay their audiences with lots of Malaysian vs. Singaporean jokes and laughter.

“Laugh Die You”, a direct translation of a Cantonese phrase, “siu sei lei”, which quite simply means “to laugh until you die”, is expecting at least 4,000 Malaysians to fill its venue, come May 14th and 15th 2015. Comedy Central Asia is bringing viewers one of British television’s most loved families, The Kumars at No. 42. The complete seven seasons of the show will debut exclusively on the network over seven weeks with new episodes on weekdays starting from Thursday, 11 December at 7pm (TH/WIB), 8pm (SG/HK//PH/TW) and 9pm (MY). Thereafter, the cast reunites after a seven-year hiatus for the brand new season re-titled The Kumars, which premieres on Friday, 23 January 2015 at 7pm (TH/WIB), 8pm (SG/HK//PH/TW) and 9pm (MY).

Winner of two International Emmy awards, the Rose d’Or Bronze Rose (Best Comedy) and the British Comedy Award, the hybrid sitcom-chat show follows the trials and tribulations of a dysfunctional suburban immigrant family – Madhuri and Ashwin Kumar, Sanjeev (their 30 something son), and Sushila (the family’s irrepressible matriarch). Based on a fictional British family, the Kumars support Sanjeev’s dream of making it big as a TV presenter going as far as to set up a TV studio in their home garden.

With celebrity guests’ appearances fees paid out in “chutney”, the comedy series features appearances by Helena Bonham Carter, Charlotte Church, Ronan Keating, Jimi Mistry, Boy George and more.

The show that is deemed as the “de facto” standard for brilliant stand-up is back to entertain! Every year LOL Events & The Comedy Club Asia bring an eclectic mix of the best stand-up comedians from around the world. Comedians carefully selected to tickle the fancy of the run-of-mill Malaysian.

The Kings and Queen of Comedy Asia is also a delightful celebration of the “arrival” of the stand-up comedy in Malaysia. After 5 years of laughter, the show promises another massive comedy extravaganza that will give the audience 2.5 hours of non-stop laughter.
