Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS To Host Fundraising Concert

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) will be hosting a fundraising concert at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) on July 29 to raise funds for Yayasan UTP.

The concert, Tapestry of Colours (TOC) 2017, is a musical gala featuring a rich medley of songs and dance of local and international cultural heritage.

It will showcase over 200 UTP multi-national and multi-talented engineering and technology students from UTP Performing Arts Group, UTP Gamelan Group, UTP Chinese Orchestra Group, UTP Bhangra Group, and UTP International Students Cultural Group.

This year’s concert, a fourth instalment since its inception, will feature popular singer Dayang Nurfaizah as the guest artiste.  The event is collaboratively organised by Yayasan UTP, UTP Alumni and Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP).

UTP Vice-Chancellor Datuk Ir (Dr) Abdul Rahim Hashim said this concert is dedicated towards the development of UTP students in the areas of academics, arts & culture, sports, leadership and community services via YUTP Student Development Fund.

“Proceeds from this concert will support the various expenditure of the student development activities such as training courses, competitions, equipment and facilities,” he said.

The launch event was organized in Lot 10 Shopping Complex, Kuala Lumpur and was attended by a number of PUMA Friends including footballers Ahmad Beto (Perak FA), Syahmi Safawi (Selangor FA) and Danish Hazriq (Negeri Sembilan).

Some local football crazy celebrities such as singer Hanifah ‘Black’, actor Ahmad Ezzrin Loy, TV host/actor Ryan Yong as well as Ola Bola fame Luqman Hafidz (Ali) and Lim Jian Wen (Ah Chai) were also present to join in the excitement and take on the Perfect ONE challenge during the launch event.

The challenge, which is open for the public, is a series of customized tasks that will test participant’s skills across the FIT/FAST/FEEL elements.

Speaking at the launch event in Lot 10 Shopping Complex, Kuala Lumpur, PUMA SEA’s Marketing Manager, Tim Tham mentioned that the challenge was designed specifically to highlight the special features of the PUMA ONE boots.

Pertarungan Sengit Antara Atlet Dan Pelawak Dalam ‘Temasya Sukan Ke Laut’

Bersempena dengan penganjuran temasya sukan berprestij di Asia Tenggara iaitu Sukan SEA 2017 yang akan berlangsung di Malaysia pada bulan Ogos ini, semangat kejohanan sukan ini akan turut disemarakkan dan diraikan di Astro Warna (saluran 132) dan Warna HD (saluran 124) menerusi program terbaharu, ‘Temasya Sukan Ke Laut’. Program yang menggabungkan elemen sukan, komedi dan hiburan ini bakal menggeletek hati penonton selama lapan minggu pada setiap Jumaat mulai 14 Julai 2017, jam 10.00 malam. Bersesuaian dengan imej Astro Warna selaku saluran komedi, ke-semua jenis sukan yang dimainkan dalam program ini telah diolah secara kreatif namun begitu pada masa yang sama, kami turut menjadikan peraturan asal sesebuah acara itu sebagai panduan. Sebagai contoh, ‘Acara Badminton 7 kali 7’ yang mana kami menampilkan 7 pemain untuk setiap kumpulan dan mereka diperlukan berdiri dalam setiap gelung bulatan individual dan perlu berdiri di dalam bulatan sepanjang berlangsungnya pertandingan. Namun begitu, mata penamat masih 21 – 21 dan memiliki seorang pengadil. Contoh lain adalah ‘Lompat Berpagar Binocular’, bermain bola sepak sambil menggunakan set alat realiti maya (virtual reality box – VR box), acara renang di kolam bersaiz Olimpik, acara keirin menggunakan basikal beroda tiga, acara larian 400 meter dengan berlari ke arah belakang (reverse running) dan sebagainya. Saya yakin, anda semua pasti akan terhibur.”

Selain dari nama-nama yang dinyatakan di atas, setiap episod akan turut menampilkan pemain jemputan yang terdiri dari barisan pelawak dan atlet seperti Mat Redho @ Mohd Redha Rozlan (Pemenang Fear Factor 2014 dan ‘Ninja Warrior’), Zulfahmi Khairuddin (Naib Juara ‘FIM Superbike World Championship 2016’ – WSBK), Khairulnizam Afendy (pelayar terbaik Asia), Amer Raja Lawak dan ramai lagi. Peserta akan dibahagikan kepada dua kumpulan iaitu kumpulan ‘Cendawan Gagah’ yang akan mewakili barisan atlet dan kumpulan ‘Kembang Semangkuk’ yang bakal disertai oleh para atlet, pelawak dan selebriti.

Mawar Rashid kini bergelar tunang Raf Yaakob

Pelakon drama Suamiku Paling Sweet, Mawar Rashid, 22, selamat melangsungkan pertunangan dengan Raden Ahmad Faizal Datuk Yaakob atau lebih dikenali sebagai Raf Yaakob dalam sebuah majlis tertutup yang juga bersempena Jamuan Santai Aidilfitri SukaSucre Creatives di Roof Garden @ Sime Darby Convention Centre, Bukit Kiara jam 4.14 petang di sini hari ini.
Terdahulu, Raf, 32, yang merupakan adik kepada penyanyi dan cef selebriti, Dato’ Fazley itu telah menghantar rombongan merisik bersama keluarganya untuk pihak Mawar pada 7 Mei lalu sebelum Raf berangkat ke London untuk bermain bola di Old Trafford di bawah Kelab Peminat Manchester United selaku Presiden My Man Malaysia.
Dan bertarikh 7 Jun lalu, Raf telah melamar Mawar. Sementara itu, majlis pertunangan pada 7 Julai juga diadakan sebagai memperingati tarikh ulang tahun kelahiran arwah bapa Raf, Datuk Yaakob Mohammad.Turut hadir ialah ibu Raf, Datin Umi Kalsom Abd. Latib, isteri Fazley, Datin Azrene Ahmad dan ibu Mawar, Datin Marinee Abdullah.Mawar yang mula dikenali menerusi pertandingan Dewi Remaja 2014/15  itu kelihatan anggun menyarung persalinan rekaan Cosry pada majlis petang itu.
Majlis tersebut dihadiri sekitar 100 tetamu yang terdiri daripada keluarga terdekat kedua belah pihak.Menceritakan detik perkenalan mereka, Mawar atau nama sebenarnya, Wan Mawar Shaputri Wan Abdul Rashid itu menjelaskan, dia dan Raf diperkenalkan oleh pelakon, Emma Maembong pada Januari lalu.
“Saya mengenali Raf di sebuah restauran yang turut ditemani oleh Emma dan rakan lain. Ketika itu, Emma menyuarakan hasrat untuk menemukan kami kerana Raf sudah dianggap seperti abang angkat olehnya. Manakala Mawar, Emma dan adik-beradik Emma juga sebenarnya adalah kawan rapat sejak di bangku sekolah sehingga sekarang. Justeru, keakraban kami seperti adik beradik berlainan ibu bapa.
“Sejujurnya, saya tidak pernah percaya dengan istilah jatuh cinta pada pandangan pertama. Hakikatnya, saya ternyata salah. Kali pertama saya bertemu Raf, dia berjaya menambat hati saya sehingga hati menjadi berdebar tidak seperti kebiasaan. Saya dapat merasakan aura unik dalam diri Raf. Barangkali, ini disebabkan cara pembawaan dirinya yang agak berbeza berbanding orang lain,” akui Mawar yang bakal meneruskan kerjaya seni atas kecintaan mendalam biarpun selepas bergelar tunang orang sekali bakal menamatkan zaman bujang tidak lama lagi.
Menceritakan lebih lanjut mengenai tunangnya, Mawar memberitahu, Raf merupakan seorang lelaki yang sangat penyayang, bertanggungjawab, berkarisma tinggi, berpendidikan, rendah diri, sopan tutur kata, menyukai keluarga dan boleh membimbingnya di dunia dan akhirat.
“Saya berasa kagum dengan pengetahuan agama Raf apatah lagi selepas melihat dia dan abangnya (Fazley) membaca talkin berdua ketika arwah bapa mereka meninggal dunia.”
Memasuki usia enam bulan perkenalan, Raf yang juga merupakan usahawan, pelakon, hos televisyen dan model itu melamar Mawar dalam suasana romantis dengan masing-masing memuatnaik gambar sama di laman Instagram mereka.
“Memang sudah lama saya ingin melamar seseorang dengan cara sebegitu (kelopak bunga ros merah bersama lilin yang tertulis ayat, Will U Marry Me?). Sejak kecil lagi, saya terbiasa menonton filem-filem yang melamar wanita dengan cara romantis. Dan ini kali pertama saya melamar seseorang (Mawar) dengan cara tersebut,” jelas Raf.
Majlis pernikahan dan persandingan pasangan dijangka akan berlangsung pada hujung tahun ini.
“Cuma tarikh sebenar majlis ini belum diputuskan kerana masing-masing (Mawar dan Raf) terikat dengan jadual penggambaran yang sedang dalam perbincangan bersama pihak produksi,” akhiri Raf.
Sementara itu, Fazley berkongsi cerita mengenai Jamuan Santai Aidilfitri ini menjelaskan, memandangkan majlis pertunangan Raf dan Mawar diadakan dalam bulan Syawal, maka beliau mengambil keputusan untuk mengadakan serentak rumah terbuka Hari Raya bersama keluarga, rakan-rakan baik dan artis-artis di bawah naungan SukaSucre Creatives yang dianggap sebagai keluarga sendiri.
Antara barisan artis SukaSucre Creatives yang hadir pada majlis itu ialah Imran Ajmain, Dr. Ezani Monoto, Imelda Harris, Sazrin Aizul, Amir Gani, Rhys William dan Firwan Johan.

DNCE LIVE IN KUALA LUMPUR

DNCE akan muncul buat pertama kalinya di Malaysia pada Ogos depan dan dibawakan kepada anda oleh Universal Music Malaysia dan Wilbros yang merupakan  kolaborasi kali pertama kedua pihak ini   untuk merealisasikan impian peminat-peminat DNCE di Malaysia.

Universal Music Malaysia telah melancarkan aktiviti yang dinamakan ‘stream to unlock’ sebagai salah satu cara mendapatkan perhatian dan respon peminat di Malaysia. Para peminat harus men’stream’kan album DNCE seberapa banyak yang boleh sebagai tanda keinginan mereka untuk DNCE muncul di Malaysia. Para peminat malah telah membuktikan kesungguhan mereka kerana kempen ini mendapat sambutan di luar dugaan hanya dalam masa dua minggu dilancarkan.

Kumpulan pop rock kuartet ini telah membawakan irama muzik mereka dengan campuran lagu-lagu yang menarik beserta dengan persembahan yang hebat.

Dianggotai oleh  Joe Jonas (dahulunya dari kumpulan Jonas Brothers) dan ditubuhkan pada musim panas 2015, DNCE menampilkan pemain gitar JinJoo Lee, pemain bass / keyboardist Cole Whittle dan pemain drum, Jack Lawless, yang dilahirkan dari perancangan lama Jonas untuk melancarkan projek yang diilhamkan oleh Earth, Wind & Fire serta Hall & Oates.

Kumpulan DNCE mula memperkenalkan diri mereka kepada penonton dunia melalui single debut mereka yang bertajuk Cake By The Ocean yang telah meraih platinum berkembar dan menjadikan mereka salah satu kumpulan terbaik pada tahun 2016. Single perdana tersebut telah berjaya menjadi hits di corong-corong radio dan menjadi salah sebuah lagu yang paling banyak dimainkan. Hingga kini, penggunaan lagu ini telah mencapai lebih enam juta.

Lagu-lagu seperti Tootbrush dan Body Moves juga merupakan kombinasi tenaga remaja dengan bass yang groove dan vokal yang sangat meyakinkan dalam album yang bertajuk DNCE yang telah pun dilancarkan pada bulan November 2016.

“Seseorang itu tidak perlu menjadi penari yang hebat. Mereka boleh menari semahunya dan dalam masa yang sama berseronok dengan tarian tersebut.Itu sebenarnya kecantikan di dalamnya,” sambung Lee secara filosofi tentang nama grup ini.

Kita tidak boleh menolak kenyataan bahawa DNCE membawakan satu ikatan kimia yang boleh dirasai dengan kuat dan ini yang dirasakan kelebihan untuk mereka berada dalam industri seni ini.

“Kami benar-benar ingin berasa seperti dalam sebuah parti,” kata Jonas.

International celebrities from HISTORY®, LIFETIME® and FYI®

A+E Networks Asia today announced the launch of HISTORY Con 2017 in Manila (The Philippines) and its plan to bring the branded experience to Malaysia this year. The mega entertainment convention will be held at the World Trade Centre in Manila from 10th to 13th August, promoted by Viva Entertainment in Manila and GR8 Dreams in Malaysia.

Popular celebrities “Horny” Mike Henry (Counting Cars), Ryu Lim (Forged In Fire), Jaime Dempsey (Ride N’ Seek), and Justin Mott (Photo Face-off), will ignite the star-studded extravaganza in both cities. Back by popular demand and exclusively in the Philippines, Rick Harrison (Pawnstars) will join the stellar line up to reunite with fans in Manila, as well as all-time favourite Danielle Colby (The Pickers) who will make her debut appearance.

Sony Pictures & Dell Team Up on “Spider-Man: Homecoming”

When Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters July 7, Dell will be at Sony Pictures’ side for all the action.

Dell teamed up with Sony Pictures, a long time Dell customer and partner, to take collaborations to the next level with Spider-Man: Homecoming. Collaborating both behind and in front of the camera, Spider-Man: Homecoming will kick off a 360-degree integrated global marketing campaign featuring the highly anticipated film and PC gaming industry’s newest entrant, Dell’s new Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop.

The alliance will integrate Dell products into the film’s storyline along with a full-scale marketing and promotional campaign featuring Dell and Sony Pictures Spider-Man: Homecoming properties. The campaign features a TV spot, cinema, print, digital advertising, out-of-home placements, and consumer engagement activations throughout the summer.

The campaign will engage fans of Spider-Man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe; as well as movie fans at large who like to game for fun and socialise, and more competitive gamers looking for the latest in technology and the best visual gaming experiences.

The television ad campaign highlighting new Spider-Man content created with Jon Watts, the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, features Peter Parker daydreaming in class about an epic battle between Spider-Man and the Vulture. The advertising spot was aired on TV networks in the US on June 26 and later this summer in China, UK, Brazil, Japan, Australia and Mexico across cinema, online and TV.

Produced by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and developed by CreateVR, Spider-Man: Homecoming VR offers players the chance to suit up as Spider-Man, hone their web-shooting skills and sling high above New York City in pursuit of the Vulture. The VR experience will be available for free across all major VR platforms starting June 30, leading up to the July 7 theatrical release of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Fans can get a sneak preview of the VR experience at select Cinemark theaters in the U.S., where Dell’s PC line of VR-ready products for consumers – a top choice for VR fanatics and VR newbies alike – will be used in demonstrations.

Dell Products Take the Spotlight in Front of the Camera in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Dell Spider-Man Scramble – Interactive Billboards in Times Square

Timed with opening weekend of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Dell and Sony Pictures will also invite fans to step into Spidey’s shoes. Passersby will be able to race to the top of a New York City skyscraper using their mobile phones in Times Square by participating in an immersive, interactive Spider-Man Scramble experience on some of the largest digital billboards in New York City. The video game will be live on Clear Channel Outdoor’s digital billboard on Broadway between 46th and 47th Street from June 30 – July 1 and July 7 – 8 from 2 – 10 p.m. EDT in Times Square allowing fans the opportunity to swing by Duffy Square and show off their Spidey skills.

Against a backdrop of the real-life buildings in Times Square, players will control Spider-Man via their mobile phones as he races up two massive digital screens in front of the Times Square audience. The Spider-Man Scramble game was created on and will be projected on the Times Square billboards by Dell Precision mobile workstations.

Spider-Man: Homecoming World Premiere

A brand new international pageant “Miss CosmoWorld 2017” is being launched today in Malaysia at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. This is the first year CL Skin Sdn Bhd is organising Miss CosmoWorld and this brand new international pageant is being directed and led by Ms Carrie Lee, the former beauty queen of Miss Chinese Cosmos International 2004 and the veteran beauty pageant organiser who has had 12 years of experience in running beauty pageants both in Malaysia and South East Asia.

In view of today’s launch, we are pleased to announce that Miss CosmoWorld is targeting to recruit contestants from at least 20 countries around the world and we are currently in the search for National Directors and contestants from these respective countries.
